HI All.

If you had an online business making $5000+ profit per month since late Nov 2005 up to now... what would it be worth..

I was thinking 18 x the monthly revenue.. so min $90K

Am I dreaming or not...

I would include the domain name and the mailing list of 2000 paid customers.. and the demo user mailing list of more then 4000 people

If you had a site like this what is the best way to sell it..

Im just looking for comments for now..

Thanks
Tom Dahne

Is'nt this where the vast majority of the overall value would come from ?

Thats good going :tu: .... if you keep the domain and customer base then you would not be selling an online business surely ?

You would just be selling a product ie: the software

It depends. If you are promoting affiliate things for 5000$/month with stats and photos it is normal about 12-16 months revenue. If you are having a business which is not as risky as some websites which are selling affiliate things More than 18 months because we are speaking about future potential and a big amount of money.

If you are selling revenue earning business. It means domain + traffic + website + client database. Otherwise it is a software and that is worth less then what you earn per month.

Whole point is you get this money with all of the mentioned included, and you can't sell just the point that you are earning with it. :)

You'd be lucky to get $9 dollars.
A Ferrari isn't a Ferrarri without the engine, tires/rims and body.
You can't just sell the license plate, and call it a Ferrarri.

I'm confused. What actually are you selling then?

HI All

Sorry if my post was confusing... I have edited my first post...

Basically I have a software product I have been selling since late 2005 and it is earning $5k plus per month and if I also include the domain and the lists of customers etc how much would you sell for..

And how would you find a buyer..

Thanks

I would say if you were to auction that whole thing, the starting bid should not be less then $100k

the point is the customers who have already bought ur software are not going to pay u again. so that does not really matter

the new customers matter and they are what count.

Wishful thinking ($90,000) -> if product is a marketing ebook selling for ~ $45 each.

Tons of competition and/or free stuff + product obsolescence when something better/cheaper/free comes along.

Think about it:
For $90,000, buyer would need to get 2000 NEW paying customers - waiting over 18 mths - just to BREAK-EVEN...those that have bought won't be repeat customers and buy it again so it's not like the $5000 /mth is a reliable continous mthly rev stream (although relatively stable so far according to you).
And who knows what will happen as regards monthly sales, product's relevancy and usefulness in 18 mths time (before buyer even gets his first projected dollar of profit) in this very competitive area...

So the main value is the mailing list leads of demo users.
