If you sold a domainer a name here at namepros and twice you have sent private messages to do the transfer , and one is replied to as 'i'm lazy with this domaining stuff,i'll get aroung to it'

If after 2 messages of which at least one has been responded to , would you keep the domain if renewal comes around and you still like the name ?

let it drop ? because you have already sold it ?

what's your view on this

As long as you've made a good attempt to contact him, and let him know of the urgency of getting the name transfered, I would say let it drop. Maybe it will become available to reg again. Then you can pick it back up and offer it for sale again.. LOL j/k or am I?

If you do end up renewing the name I would not transfer it to him until he pays you for the renewal fee.

I think that when you sold the domain to the buyer, As long as you have disclosed the Expiration date to him or her, and you have tried to get them to put the 2 minutes in, to go ahead and do what is needed to accept it into their account....
Well, Theres not much more you can do on your end.

You can't put any more $$$ into it and expect the buyer to pick up that tab also since that has not been communicated at all, (unless you would be happy w/owning it for another year for the renewal fee).

Otherwise, I would let it drop, It's their loss, and you did all you could do!

I'd let it drop unless of course it's like a super domain but seeing your buyer's response I'm guessing not?

it still has about 6 months of reg i think , and i would probably wish to keep it if the transfer is not done by then, i guess before i renew i could send one more message , but as stated if someone is not even willing to put 2 minutes into something they have purchased ... what can you do ?

I am guessing they have paid for this name so really it is their name now. You have done more then your share in this deal so just forget about the name and move on. When it comes to the drop, let it drop. I have actually had this happen when I have been paid for a name and after pushing it, the buyer never accepted the Godaddy transfer. After a couple of notes to the buying I gave up and when the time came, the name just dropped and as far as I know has remained that way.

:)

If you let it drop and it becomes available again you could morally register it and it is yours again (and you keep the money from the sale).
If you renew it I believe you would be obligated to hold on to it for at least six months from date of purchase (even though the buyer has shown a lack of interest in expediting transfer) before you can resell it (and keep the money).

I've had $xxx sales where this happened. The buyer paid, never accepted transfer, never responded to emails, etc... I've had $xxx and $x,xxx sales where the buyer got the name, but years later has done absolutely nothing with it, including even changing the nameservers (still pointed at Sedo and I was still collecting parking revenue off it.) In fact, I am not sure that any domain I've ever sold has ever been used in any way at all. ;)

if it starts earning revenue i'll keep it .... (just joking)

It's obviously not a LLL.com or anything special from what i can tell, so just let it drop, you have 6 months anyway, so no stress. if you do though decide to renew it down the track, then the buyer must pay the standard reg fee at that registrar on top of your original price.

If after the renewal date they still want the domain, i would decline giving it to them, they would have let it drop, so too bad, it's your domain now.
