If you have a good domain name but are currently short on cash, would you sell the domain at a low price? Let's discuss.

No, it's better to sell more liquidable assets, domains are probably the worst asset to sell in a rush, even your old phone/car will be better to sell.

Well, first of all, it depends on whether you've received solid (albeit low) offers on the domain. Talking about discounting when no offers have been received is all rather frivolous. Lowering prices isn't an instant result maker for mediocre domains. The fact that you think it good might not translate into any sale.

I think most domainers would admit to accepting Lower solid offers, when finances are squeezed or maybe because its been on your books for many years. I know I have but these have all been in the $x,xxx range.

The amount of posts on Namepros headed . "Now discounted by 50%" or whatever are a laugh-a-minute.

Hello, Future Sensors. This topic is worth discussing. If a good domain name is sold at a low price just because of short-term funding issues, it would be a loss for oneself as well.

Hello, Constantin S. Thank you very much for your response. If there is a platform that allows you to solve funding issues in the short term by using your domain name as collateral for a loan, would you be open to that?

this thread makes no sense unless liquid names with maeket preset value ranges are involved. otherwise the price being low or high becomes an entirely subjective matter for both parties. every buyers needs vary so does every seller experience to decide value or good name vs less good etc .. without giving name this post means nothing other than speculating on speculations.

Probably yes. I've been in such situations and I have let go off domains at a very lower price so that the cashflow is positive.

Hi, Goku,

You might need a platform like this, where you can use domain name pledging to get a loan. As long as you repay the loan within the specified period, the domain name will still belong to you. This way, you won't have to sell your valuable domain names at a low price, and you can solve your short-term cash flow problems.

What is a good domain for you? What's the appraisal?

Hello, moviedeo, for example, if you have a domain name worth $5000, would you sell it for $3000 when facing financial difficulties?

Thanks Future for the disclaimer.

I'd sell all of them.

Hello, Alop, if there is a platform that can help everyone solve such problems, shouldn't we let everyone know about it?

Before promoting the nfly platform, you should make sure it is not as confusing as it is. I have visited it couple of times and still cannot figure out how it works, what are the actual names demo-ed there etc.

Good name = More buyers

Nowadays quality domains very rare to find in a reasonable price. Good domain like a realestate, Good domain price increases every passing year.

It's my personal thought but seniors have wider experience they faced any loss in a good domain!

I could use domains as a collateral but only with a credible organization, which at least uses some credible third-party Escrow service such as Escrow.com - anything else is too risky of parting with your domains and selling them at the loan price if you transfer them over to a untrustworthy provider.

Nfly.com is full of typos, cannot text to American phone numbers, etc., and has so many bugs in the UI. I understand your mother tongue is not English, mine isn't either, but having basic typos and so much broken English is alarming!
