What web business is for me?

So I have been reading about domain flipping, domain parking, buying expired domains, buying prebuilt websites that use Adsense or an eBook or of course, buying an existing website--but where to start?

I promote my company (day job's) website with a pretty decent Google Adwords campaign but I am not a web developer and really would like a simple place to start where I can plunk down a few hundred bucks, spend 5 to 10 hours per week and some additional $$ promoting the site, work up to making $1K a month.

Any tips?

I like science fiction and cool new technologies. Really think something about solar power or green energy is great stuff and a lot of people are interested in going green...I'm a big Microsoft techie (no Apple jokes please) and am familiar with the Ebay Marketplace too.

with your background, you might want to try domaining with names that are very technical in nature as you'll probably have a better understanding of their values / how to sell them to others.

if you're into sci-fi and new technologies then maybe development is a route you can try to. make some sites about those topics perhaps?

In your research thus far, what topic has most appealed to you? That is the one to start with and continue to research. Stick with one until you've made it profitable.
