It's a new year, so what domaining trends will you be following in 2008? Will you stick to .com? Will you go for certain cctlds? Will you Hold, buy, sell or a little of both? What do you think will be the trends we look at in december 2008 and say, "only if I new back in January"?

I`ll be buying all year long LLLL.com and create a special thread for the unbelievers once all worse combos will sell for at least $100 (which is not far away).

My reason for investing in LLLL.coms in the first place was:

1. LLL.mobis sell for $200+ and LLLL.coms are just as good imho for the mobile web.

2. CCC.coms sell for $XXX. If someone would pay $150+ for 9za.com, will someone not eventually pay $150+ for in example, xszj.com? I can think of more potential endusers for the latter than the former...

I will continue to invest in green and alternatve energy domains because I'm a firm believer this sector will continue to grow. Recognizion and efforts to eliminate or curb climate change and weather unstability caused by mankinds use of fossil fuels will become even more important next year and the years after.

The dirty fossil fuel energy business will become a thing of the past just as the dinasaurs that created it are. This will happen sooner than many think. Investment and return on the new green alternative energy business sector is predicted to be from 10 to 100 times as large in monetary value as the internet is today. I'm convinced this will open up a huge new green alternative energy domain sector. I expect solar, wind, eco, hydro, and hydrogen (h2) domain names, to name a few, will be in great demand. In fact, they already are. I've noticed an estimated 3 or 4 hundred percent (maybe more) increase in sales of these type names within the past year.

I'll hold to quad and triple premium LLLL.coms and I think N-NN.coms will succeed.

AlternativeFuels

And IMHO,

This time it's for real. This industry will continue to grow slow but sure.

I will finish the development of my Renewable Energy domain in
2008.

Happy New Year!

May it bring you all Health, Wealth, and Happiness. :)

I honestly have no idea what I will be doing.

Maybe develop some websites, try to obtain some generic domains.

Oh yeah, inform myself on the domain market and common market. I think its a good way of investing time and money.

Merry Christmas everyone

Buy at least one generic .com (already have one in the pipeline :))

Buy more LLL.coms

Stay clear of LLLL.coms for now. The prices are inflated right now, and I expect a correction around August when the worst quality letters being held by small investors drop. These will be taken again, but not before a price correction. LLLL.com prices are being powered by domainers right now, the buyout is not real in sense. I know most will berate me for saying this, but this is my personal opinion.

Get some .co.uk names

Grab some super premium .ins (if you're selling some, PM me :))

I plan to continue reading NP and try to understand the forces driving the trends others are following ...

Just for laughs, I may develop some "inside joke" sites -> not sure what I'm going to do with "tardmark.com" and "regfee.name"

Different points of view make a healthy market - thanks for sharing yours :)

I imagine that most people who are paying attention won't be too surprised to see prices for anti-premium LLLL.com on a roller-coaster throughout 2008, especially from August to November - though IMO that probably won't be the last stop for this train - may see plenty of people still buying their tickets to get on board for the long haul (expecting decent returns in more of a 3-to-5 year timeframe).

Could be still a bit early (or too late) to jump into LLLL.com unless you're prepared to pay renewal fees for a few years (and are willing to take on the significant risk that they'll never be worth more than the $$$ you've sunk into them over the years) - so certainly may be a better option for most to just wait and see - then can always pony up the $xxx or whatever to trade them when (if) they do actually take off in a more serious way a few years from now. :imho:

I agree with you on this Sashas....I also believe that 2008 could be a big year for .tv, both in development and sales.

I'll second that.

I'm really digging organic atm myself. Have about 10k riding on health/organic names which I can only hope will return 100 times my investment (realistically hoping for 5-10x though) :D
