What to use?

I hear people say the domain lets say rain.com for example came with 1million results in google and 2 million at yahoo. wat program do you use to find this out or website?
and can you apply this to a domain you are thinkin about buyin? lets say i want to buy abcde.com ...

Just search the specific domain name in quotes at each respective search engine.
i.e. google results 3,070,000 for "abcde"
Yahoo 3,670,000 for " abcde""

Using quotes will return pages that have that exact phrase:
google 10,200 for "ninjas killed my family"
yahoo 23,600 for " ninjas killed my family"
