Hey everyone  I'm new to this domaining but really like the concept as it feels a little like real estate, which I have done alot of.

Anyhow, I was after some advice on what are the best platforms to sell a domain.

Does it depend on what type of domain you have, the price your may be after???

I have just listed a domain over at flippa, but I would appreciate any advice you may have.

Many people say SEDO is one of the best, but it has not worked for me. Some say Afternic (I sold one there), Godaddy(none), and all the others. But the place I have sold the most was right here on NamePros.com. :) The only problem is that the selling prices are almost always very, very, very low. :(

And of course it depends on the domain and the price you set. I think BargainDomains.com has a good business model. They use Estibot appraisal, then only allow you to list your domain for a max price that is now only 15% of the appraised value. This keeps prices realistic for resellers, and a bargain in many cases for end-users.

But domain names are not really like real estate. While each domain is unique, it's mostly a buyer's market. The good thing is many of the buyers don't know that, just like many of the sellers don't either. There is a massive gulf between most wholesale prices and most end-user (retail) prices. Follow the advice in the "sticky" posts at the top of the forum and you will get a LOT of good avice for beginners.

Domains are easy to buy, but for most of us they are hard to sell.

Thx guys for your info.

As I previously mentioned I have a domain for auction over at Flippa and I guess this is the test to see what happens.

When I was looking through a few auctions over at Flippa I noticed most of the auctions didn't have bids on them. It would be interesting to know there conversion rate or clearance rate.:?

you seem to be "stuck" on flippa

imo, flippa, flippers, etc is a newbie term, thus will more likely draw newbie visitors

there are other venues out here to exploit...

Flippa problems

I tried to sell an "aged domain" (2 years old)
which I had not changed the whois info on, as at the time I was unaware of the need to do that. I get hounded for about 6 weeks, no one helped me just gave me "Grief" Anyone else had that sort of problem?
