After a few read throughs have decided that BrandPencil.com is the best listed choice for your launch.

This is why!

BrandPencil plays well on the concept, the notion, of a person sitting down with a pencil and paper and starting to write down or outline their new business plan - their 1st step on day 1 of planning.

And now, after months or years of massive input and refinement and everything else that goes into a business launch their once new, penciled down idea, that first day's outline, has now come to fruition as a business.

And your website provides a variety of domain name choices to finalize their now realized business plan.

IMO BrandPencil represents their initial concept of the business and your domain names available for their business as the final step, the cherry on the cake.

I warmed up to NameLegit although I believe " legit " might be too slangy and a bit too street used to provide the IMO professional edge I believe you would wish to cultivate.

NameStud is surely eye catching and memorable although there may be (?) too many connotations re the word stud to be taken as seriously as a seller as I believe you would want to be - or - is it just the opposite and would bring in folks out of curiosity and then let your domains speak for themselves.

Agreed, but don't you think we have too many DN's and Brand names and all, why not go differently like sedo or dan, something different .. totally out of the box .. the seller / buyer market has their own space when it comes, if I am a buyer and a seller, it doesn't matter if names are being sold on any platform, i will go there and the best is word of mouth.

I own a name: Namk (.com) and I was thinking to develop something on it, just a thought process for a long time now, it's a different name for everyone to pronounce, but that's out of the box thinking, 4 characters, 75% towards the target just the "K" made it different and that's how it will make a reaction.

In my opinion, BrandPencil is good but still, my opinion is to go a little different.

Agreed. Different is good.

If I ever amass enough names to develop my own marketplace, my frontrunning options are Identity Spark and Bold Frontier.

'Different' can be good...but it can also be expensive to brand and promote. eg. compare these two domains: sedo.com vs. domainmarket.com. Most people will remember sedo.com, but which one do you think will be more likely remembered by endusers in association with domains? Names that are self-explanatory tend to be less expensive to promote, I believe.

I plan to! It's just that my 200 names are not currently enough to warrant their own marketplace. :)

I'm not sure that marketing and memorability is an issue for most of us independent domainers. For most of us, our website will simply serve as a professional front to capture traffic generated by our domain names.

I'd go with a 4 letter dot com, otherwise shell out $10 for a descriptive mouthful like combrandnames.com or dotcombrandnames.com, good luck!

Funny you would mention sedo....my first reaction was, what the heck is a Sedo? I use to own a Seadoo jet ski, and to this day that's what I think of when I hear or see the name. Then you have the likes of Afternic, Uniregistry, Estibot, and a name I recently heard Guta....what the heck is a Guta?

I can assure you that few if any potential "end users" looking to brand or buy a domain have ever heard of any of these companies. Prior to being introduced to this industry just two years ago I'd never heard of any of these companies, and I'd been starting, naming and operating businesses for 50 years.

btw, what the heck is a BrandBucket???? Ask anyone/everyone you know if they'd heard of BrandBucket:xf.rolleyes:

I find it interesting that 18 months ago when I came up with the name DomainGourmet.com for my marketplace that most everyone here on NP felt it was a pretty good name, and MapleDots (whatever happened to him?) even offered publically to buy it for $250. What's sad:xf.frown: is that it's taken me 18 months to develop it, but it's soon to be published.

Oh, one other crazy name that no one has ever heard of is Squadhelp....is that like the rescue squad? Coulda fooled me:xf.confused:

4 character word is even better than 3 characters in my opinion as it makes a perfect word.

2 Letter way out .. for corporations

I was damn serious to start a business structure like Dan and had funds around 35-40k to make everything and later go with marketing boost and all, just this covid thing made all things changed.

Dan had a massive rebrand from Undeveloped

Many people were angry at change, and now; businessโ€™ booming; you right; shorter is better.

Aahhh, you're probably right. I think what threw me off was the verbiage. The word 'marketplace' suggests a certain business structure and presentation. Had he used domain 'showcase', as you're suggesting, I may have responded differently. Forgive me for being overly technical.

I realize that the vast majority of domainers rely on the major domain marketplaces for promotion and sales. That may very well be the case with OP.

i wanted to avoid โ€œdomainโ€ for this reason.
selling brands, not domains, technicall namesโ€

feel โ€œdomainโ€ limits โ€”and only two syllable one

Nice idea. That kind of funding doesn't get you very far if you want to build something like DAN though.

@NameDeck

It's will if it's done wisely, I have worked for companies and I have seen them growing good with 50k budget, trust me.
