I believe that it's accurate to say a class of domains "has value" when all are bought out and people are willing to pay something more than reg-fee to buy them.

What are the best double numbers at the end after 88 and 99, in LLNN?
Maybe all extensions with 88 and 99 are the best double numbers:P

All Chinese premium NNLL.com are gone. Chinese premium LLNN.com are gone long back. I already posted about it few days ago: https://www.namepros.com/threads/all-chinse-premium-llnn-and-nnll-com-are-gone.889252/

Talking about other chinese premium combinations like LNNL or LNNN, it's hard to tell if they will get any interest in future or not.
So the LLNN pattern went before any other CCCC patterns, is that correct?

What makes this pattern more desirable?

I think the case for the supremacy of LLNN is that (a) they are divided evenly 2 and 2, the Chinese apparently like to divide LLLL into the first 2 then the next 2 letters and (b) it just seems more natural for the letters to come before the numbers.

Maybe someone else can give a better answer but that's how I see it. I think investors in any Chinese variation will do well, but I see LLNN (.com) having explosive upside potential ($500+).

And that's why I think NNLL.com will also explode in value. I doubt LNNL or NLLN or other combinations will succeed.

I meant C for "character" actually (L or N and someone would include "-"). Thanks for the links, I'll take a look.
Nope. Millions of CCCC.com are available for registration.

You've a valid point here; but I don't think LLNN that will translate into a great investment.
LLNNs are not pronounceable, not acronym, and hardly brand-able. I think the reason for LLNN buy out is that the folks who are buying into them are the ones who missed the LLLL com/net train, and speculations that it will be the neXt big thing.

Not an expert; just a mere opinion, only time will tell!

You are right on Nat. Also letters before numbers is popular is the west, so you hedge your investment by targeting a name based on the appeal for more buyers.

NNLL's are also used in China, and are also taken - and have been for quite some time. They do have value, but because of the aforementioned hedge LLNN's are more in demand at the moment.

LNNL or NLLN buys would be based more on a speculative based chip 'pattern' to buy. The only LNNL brand that comes to my mind is P90X (workout system). If anyone has info on LNNL branding conventions feel free to weigh in.

I have to strongly disagree with this point.

For one, I bought a fair amount of pinyin LLLL's when they were $20 - $40 USD and sold them all (except a few I kept) for $300 - $600 USD. I didn't buy them with using the 'pinyin' buying strategy, but I bought them because I thought that 4L's were undervalued as a whole. Turns out I was right, so no boat was missed on my part.

I'm buying LLNN for the same reason I bought LLLL when they were low - they have value, they are very undervalued at the moment, and branding conventions are starting to lean towards the LLNN both in emerging China and the West.

Expecting the price to explode tomorrow is a fallacy of logic based on what we have seen in the past year. LLNN's may start to be traded as chips in 4-8 months, but the true value in these are for end user acquisitions and sales - which is how stable domains that retain their value should always be purchased.

At the moment, their value is rising and they are harder and harder to get at auction - and were so months ago even before anyone started talking about it - which is also a good sign of value and demand.
