I was wondering, what is the minimum number of uniques you would consider per month or per day to keep a domain?

More specifically, I suppose what I am trying to figure out is what is the minimum number of uniques per month that you would need to break even on an 8 dollar domain name that is parked?

I know it is not a specific number but a range of numbers, such as is 30 uniques per month enough to even have a chance at paying off the yearly fee? This seems too small to me but I am not sure, I mean is the range something like 60-200 per month or is it higher than this?

Perhaps uniques aren't the standard and it is only the revenue that is looked at. The reason I am looking at uniques is because perhaps if there are very few click throughs on a parked page but it is still getting high traffic, the page can still be optimized and developed so that more people click through.

For some reason this question is boggling my mind, any help would be appreciated. I suppose that part of being able to tell this is through experience, I don't have experience yet, perhaps you would be able to shed some light on the link between number of uniques and breaking even or making revenue with domains.

Visitation is a small part of it, but looking at my stats, my parked domains tend to be sustainable as soon as they receive around 150 uniques per month.

it depends whether you park them yourself or through a parking company.

it depends on the name you have parked... if you have a great one word for sure you will have hundreds even thousands per day but if you have a good LLLL.com you will have a few uniques... but would you drop a good LLLL.com these days because its uniques isnt good? i wouldnt drop a crappy one :hehe:

i am assuming you have this name, so heres the question: doesnt the revenue pay its registration?

good luck with your names :)

I would rather one visitor to GiveMeInformationAboutDUIAttorneys.com than 20 to lulima1337h4x0rz.com

Targeted traffic in high paying niches don't need a lot of traffic to pay for themselves. The opposite is true in lower paying niches.
