16,000 euros for a .info :o

yes, i regret it and you may think i'm nuts, but the name is worth this range and the bargaining had gone 10k, 12k etc , i had come down from 26k etc

it was logical to meet at 20, then the bitch went cold.
i dropped to 18, then eventually to 16
tried, even went thru sedo broker and the guy wanted to now pay 10, on principle had to say no. this was a year ago
could do with the 10k euros now, but such is life. it will sell in the future for a very good price i have no doubt

i have turned down much higher offers for much better domain though also. those i don't regret

I am working on one in the mid $x,xxx right now that I might to have to pass. The buyer is questionable (googlemail email), Private IP address, has a last name that is questionable (sounds made up)..

They asked to use Escrow.com, but I do not trust escrow since they play no part in the domain transfer. It's just to easy to change the whois, to make it look like I never transfered the domain to the new owner...

We will see what shakes down...

I turned down 1.2 Million USD and many others in around half that amount, or a little less.

I still have all the domains.

I sold somedomains, two of them, in 2000 for a large sum to buyers from Europe. All my big sales for some reason have gone to Europe.

Honestly though, I would die to see what they would have done in parking and it upsets me that I don't own those ones anymore.

Yea, I know.... I can just hear someone saying "boo-hoo", but what is it they say, "you make a million dollars and you just want more", well if I had kept those domains I would probably of had more power to grow quicker than I have and probably would have done better monetarily than having taken the cash up front.

That is part of the reason I am hesitant to sell anything anymore. Once they are gone..... they are gone. You may have money in the bank, but you don't have cash flow...... which I consider better than money in the bank.

Very wise. Escrow.com is not an escrow service in the classic sense.

Seabass: You need to warn us before saying things like that... like "warning, put the coffee down". Now I need to wipe that coffee off the monitor.

Biggest one for me that I turned down that was actually listed for sale (as opposed to NFS) was $50k for a .net. Glad I turned it down. They contacted me through whois, and had a real email, phone, address, etc. On Sedo the offers for the same domain are a complete joke so I just quit responding to lowball bids.

This thread is useless without naming names.

I turned down x million blabla...

That 1.2 offer actually came in 2002.

I don't get the big offers as much as I used to, meaning pre-2004. I have no idea why. Maybe the word got out that I just won't sell, or respond to emails. >:(

Name some of yours then.

Who in their right mind would name big sales like that. Or even $50,000 sales. I guess Rick Schwartz and the like do, but not me..... there are too many reasons not to. It has nothing to do with TM's either.

No rocket science here. If you are that curious, just go to domaintools, pay the fee, and get the list of what anybody owns. simple. Once you have the list it should be fairly simple to figure out the rest.

I guess 2000 was a few years too early to find out what parking income was going to be like :|

Surely having a few big sales earlier on gave you much more buying power to snap up loads of other good ones ?

ie: ..like Sahar selling a LL.com, FS selling the house ! :o etc etc

I'm actually enjoying it thank you . :) - but, you can't please all of the people all of the time - so why even bother trying ?

If you don't like a thread don't participate in it, easy..thats what some people choose to do.

The truth hurts. Telling it like you "think" it is...
