Why does SEDO restrict common GTLD investors from submitting their own premium GTLDs ... SEDO allows ONLY registry owners to submit their GTLDs to their GreatDomains Auction ?

SEDO is acting like the Robin Hood of the Domain Industry

Telling people you have to pay $180K to ICANN to become a registry owner “.extension owner” before you can submit GTLDs ? What in the world ?

The registry owned domain, ox.club sold for $10K at the same auction ...

Meanwhile I just learned that SEDO charges 10% extra if you wish to have an NDA too keep your transaction private ... attached is the screenshot of the buyer of Angel.com for $2M

Marketplaces should not announce any sales between 2 parties, all Sedo (and other marketplaces) do is offer a trustworthy platform for business deals to take place, just like any deals on Escrow.com, these deals should be confidential and should only be made public should the buyer or seller wish it to go public, not a 3rd party.

Marketplaces like Sedo/GoDaddy telling the world private business transactions that happens on their platform, is like your bank going public of any money being transfered from 1 bank account to another or a business meeting happening in an restaurant and the restaurant going public of any financial agreements that took place in this private business meeting and believing they have a right to do so just because it took place on their property.

I agree, furthermore holding that company at ransom for an extra 10% just for privacy is just wrong

10% on 2M is $200K extra

In the past was posted on NP that for domainers/sellers this Privacy is for free, just ask your transfer manager...

its not for free ... Angel.com just sold 4 days ago for $2M ... we would not have known the price if the buyer paid the extra 10% to SEDO ... I screenshotted the buyers comments above

And again, for SELLERS it is for free, if initiated by the SELLER.

Hi

per sedo faq page:
Can I keep my domain transactions private?

Yes. Depending on your specific needs, we can establish transaction privacy in two ways:
  1. Only a specific transaction's details are not published. This is on a case-by-case basis, and you must notify your assigned transfer specialist of your request to keep the information private. The details of the sale, including date and price, will not be disclosed at any time during or after the transaction process.

  2. All domain transaction details are not published. This is an account setting and can be implemented by Sedo on your behalf. Details of any sales you complete through Sedo will not be shared during or after the transaction process. If you wish to proceed with option 2, please contact us.
If an agreement is reached through the use of Sedo's brokerage services, you may be charged an additional 2.5% commission fee for requesting transaction privacy.

If I buy or sell a domain through Sedo, will the transaction be publicized?

If you buy or sell a domain through Sedo’s standard offer/counter-offer system, the domain name and sale price will be made public. You will have the option to request that this information not be published during the transfer process. Buyer and seller details are never disclosed to the public.

If you buy or sell a domain through a Marketplace Auction or Auction Event, the domain and sale price will always be made public.

If you would not like details regarding a transaction publicized, we can establish transaction privacy in two ways:
  1. Only a specific transaction's details are not published. This is on a case-by-case basis, and you must notify your assigned transfer specialist of your request to keep the information private. The details of the sale, including date and price, will not be disclosed at any time during or after the transaction process.

So fee is only for transactions via their brokers...
Regular sales are not affected.
