What is Dropped Domains?

I just bought 3 PR4 domains. I wonder if it's a good idea to buy domains with PR. Some says the PR can be fake.

Also some sellers say they don't sell dropped domains. What the hell is that and why would the seller say that?

If a domain drops and is registered again then I believe it loses its "age", one of the factors Google takes into account when ranking domains.

A domains that has been dropped 9 times in a decade is obviously going to be inferior generally against a domain that has been maintained over the same length of time. Googles algorithm will pick up on it automatically and decide that it is not worth anything if everyone keeps letting it drop.

This guy is basically saying he is not going to trade skodas instead of porshe.

Some of those dropped domains have high PR though. So, domains lost the ages when it's dropped? You sure?

Obviously the Google page rank algorithm is not public available but apparently the domain age is one of many factors that influence the PR. As it is only one of many factors it is impossible to make a direct link between domain age and PR.

You will find that Google can, and has dropped PR from domains that have expired or been parked, so i would be wary of over paying for domains with PR.

Yes some people will try and scam you into making out their domain/s have PR when they don't.....terrible isn't it, You will find some of them even sell on here!

Some sellers will claim anything, whether the domain has been dropped or not, or has or hasn't PR. Some people are just scammers full stop, buyer beware is the key.

Don't buy a domain for the PR unless you know what you are doing. Even if the domain has real PR, it can be lost once the content on the domain changes. Remember that domains don't really have PR, pages have PR.
