I was looking for developed .mobi sites and ran across this qvb . mobi . It's just a regular site, not mobile compliant at all. I thought this was against registration rules. How are the people in charge of the .mobi domain going to police every single .mobi site to make sure it is compliant?

i would imagine that if reported as non mobile compliant they would send a warning i imagine also you could hire people for 10/hr to go through all sites all day to find non compliant sites, also they will depend on the community to help keep the integrity of .mobi to a premium

This will most likely be an automated process -- I believe I read somewhere that they'll have software that will crawl the .mobi sites checking for the specific parameters that indicate it complies with the standards. If it doesn't comply, there will be a warning sent, followed by two more over the next few months if it continues to be noncompliant. If it doesn't get brought up to standards, it will be disabled (i.e., no one will be able to access the site) until the site owner can prove that it has been made compliant.

well, you have to use a mobile device to access the site to see if it is compliant or not. If you use a normal PC to browse the site, no .mobi comliance is needed. Some sites have automatic mechnism to detect if traffic comes from a PC or a mobile device.

This is exactly correct. Now if I can only figure out the SEO friendly way to do that...

Good question! How do we do that? I don't know. But I am sure someone will figure that out.
