What happens when you don't protect your brand name?

I think there are three main effects
1. Illegal criminals use fake phishing websites to make profits illegally and affect the corporate reputation.

2. It is difficult to be remembered and input by users, and more promotion costs need to be paid to attract users.

3. The enterprise brand corresponding to the competitor or other domain name preemptively owns it and loses the important first opportunity of brand promotion.

Any more thoughts on brand domain names?
all feedback appreciated,Looking forward to domainers:xf.smile:

I also think that if the brand name is not protected, it will also cause traffic loss
  • It's like 360buy.com:xf.frown:

When you don't protect your brand name, you leak traffic, private information and prestige.

For example, I have Algar(.com) which not only has inevitable prestige and standing on it's own, but other parties who use same syntax.

I may develop it, I may not. I may put a photo of an Arab, Al Gar, on the domain. Or not.

But a brand is good like this.

It seems similar to Twitch but in China, it's not loading slowly, they probably have servers outside of China as well.
Do they own any other domain apart from the .com and .com.cn?
