I am suggesting bidders do the research.
All .com's have been available for thirty years. Creation date is meaningless. So is "Aged" (some like to use for value).
Estibot is a known wild card value estimator. From spot on to ridiculous.
A for sale price does not justify "value" or "Premium" either
The term is a product niche. A very small seasonal niche.
usefulness, advantage, benefit, gain, profit- all terms associated with "value" yet the only buyers are who?
Sure it has a niche value just not "Premium" value by any stretch of a salesman's imagination.
.com doesn't make it a premium. A 12 character niche will never be a "Premium"domain.
Not dis'ing the domain. It's a solid niche domain. Just disturbed by the "Premium" selection of the auctioneer like many others have expressed.
Wish you the Best!
My it be a very Happy New year for you!
Cheers
Thank you for the best wishes.
It definitely seems seems you frustrated with ROTD's selection of domains. I can relate to your frustration. Personally I thought some of my new GLTDs would be a sure thing in the selection. However it is their auction and they must have some method of selection. It is unclear to me; however I got lucky and have a few domains which got selected with their method.
I would also like to take the time to clarify some of your other comments. "SkiJacket" has 9 characters not 12. Contrary to common belief many longer domains still have a lot of value. There are quite a few 9 plus character domains reported with $XX,XXX or higher selling prices and even more with $X,XXX selling prices.
Namebio.com has 10 pages of 9 or more character .com domain sales of $10,000 or more from 06/02/2016 to current. If fact the highest 9 character .com reported during that time is $ 1,368,000. Other domains in this example have as many as 19 characters.
Here are the results in the first page of namebio.com search of 9 or more character .coms with $10,000 selling price or more:
Domain Price Date Venue
blackjackclassroom.com $14,839 2016-12-22 GD
schematic.com $11,865 2016-12-22 GD
tyreexpert.com $ 11,000 2016-12-11 SE
monochrome.com $33,397 2016-12-08 SE
bailaohui.com $10,001 2016-11-30 DC
vitalshop.com $10,544 2016-11-24 SE
xxxvideos.com $1,368,000 2016-11-20 PS
flexibledieting.com $27,000 2016-11-16 SE
uberdriverdiaries.com $16,667 2016-11-11 FL
This surprised me as well. All you tend to hear is that short domains are where the money is. I tend to agree; however there are many long domains with a lot of value. I am quite happy with selling prices in the $ X,XXX plus range.
Good luck with your domains and have a great new year.
