What domain should I use for my portfolio?

Hello guys!
I would like to create a portfolio page with my projects and photos, my question is, what extension should I use with my surename if .com, .net, .org, and .cz (where I live) domains are taken? Is it good to use .co, .me or something else?

If your surname is taken, suggest you use firstnamesurname.com. Another alternative is to adopt a nickname and use that ( in .com, of course) as your "brand". This is assuming you're targeting international markets primarily, not locals.

Another alternative is to use yoursurnameactivity.com (e.g. smithdesign.com). This has a couple pitfalls, however:
- raises the question of language in which to describe your activity,
- limits your diversification options.
