It doesn't matter which domain you use really. If your content is original and interesting , you'll get visitors whichever domain name you use.

I beg to differ. Domain name matters! Heck, it's the NamePros forum here...:)

It's good to have a memorable blog domain name. If you are a fantastic blogger, people will come back, but only if they bookmark it or remember the domain name.

IMHO, nomarsblog.com would be better than any of the ones you suggested. I'd definitely not go for the .cc extension, but that's just me.

Good luck, whichever way you go

Well i'm sorry but i beg to differ with you on this too.
I'm not saying domain naming isnt important generally, but in this instance of a blogging domain your content is much more important than the domain,as their are hundreds of millions of blogging sites out their allready.
Thus, any domain you use, even if its qwertyuiopqwertyuiop-blog.cc would be ok if your content is good, original and interesting to read.

nmr.cc is fine. No need to buy a different domain.

OK, we agree to disagree on this one, I'll just voice my opinion for nmr86's benefit:

Good content = High Traffic <------- this is a myth

Good content is just one prerequisite.

This is due to the same reasons GoDesign already mentioned: There are 100s of millions of blogs, and tens of thousands of those with good content! You need to stand out amidst the good-content ones.

You need more than that, presence, branding, interactivity, SEO....and a good domain name won't hurt.

...Think BoingBoing.net, InstaPundit.com....why not do as the most succesful bloggers and have not only quality content, but quality everything?

Descriptive blog names are also good, i.e. JoesBlog, especially if you're just blogging for fun, not for profit, but any domain name with 5 consonants in a row (nmrsblog.com) is just bad, and a worthless domain name, too, let alone qwerqwtiasfasdfjkahsdg.com or whatever.

Whichever way you decide to go NMR86, take some time to think this through, because once you've started blogging with domain name X, after a while it'll be a major pain in the ass to move your blog to domain name Y.
(Been there)
