Hi guys,

I was wondering what do you think of domains with US at the end, as an abbreviation for United States, although I suppose there is also a double meaning type element, are they any good? I don’t mean the .us extension but names like computingus.com or energyus.com, ect.

Thanks

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Brandables, and most immediately apparent end-users are probably going to have active TM's (and usually, already own whatever name they want).

I guess what you're playing there is the angle that at some point in the future, someone will want to build a business using that specific, brandable type name. Even though a Keyword with a "US" suffix is sensible, this is still real shot-in-the-dark type stuff. There are *just enough* isolated anecdotes of people making big scores with names like this to keep the herd lining up to get their bets down, but IMO, this sort of 'domaining' has a massively negative expectation, outlying anecdotes aside.

Go ahead, but just know that you're buying an $8 annual lotto ticket.
