What do the stars represent on Namepros sidebar?

Well, I've been here very long, and somewhat have learned so much because of namepros :]

I never really noticed the stars really meant anything, i thought it meant how much reputation, but what does it really mean? (if i get it right, YES, lol)

Anyways =P thanks for reading this. I always like namepros since the day i joined.

One gold star (you have been here one year) + one white/faded one (an additional half year). You have been here atleast 1 year and 6 months, but not two years as a member :) On your second "birthday", it becomes one spinning star and one non-spinner. Every year thereafter, a spinning star is added. Note: The faded/white one only is there, I believe, to mark a half-year, if you have been here less than two years...after that the system only shows complete years via stars.

The green squares, are reputation, and the two are totally unrelated

More info here: http://www.namepros.com/namepros-info-and-suggestions/69317-reputation-points-stars-etc.html

In Febuary ,2007 you marked your first year here (one star), and got the white one in August. In Febuary 2008, you will have two gold stars (one spinning and one stationary). Hopefully by then, you'll also have bulit up a few more reputation green bars (Doing good, and showing yourself to be a good NPer, so far :tu: ). The stars are automatic, the bars are not.

:bingo: great answer! :tu:

Just to extend on what you said:

2 gold stars (1 spinner) = 2 years
3 gold stars (2 spinners) = 3 years
4 gold stars (3 spinners) = 4 years

...and so on. ;)

perhaps these answers as well as the "rep" answers need to go on a welcome email or something similar (pm maybe?). there seems to be a question on either of these questions every week, which is not surprising given the number of people who join namepros every day.
