What are the reps for? Do they convert to the 'stars'?

Hi,

Can someone tell me what are the reps for and if they convert to the stars?

If they do convert to stars, how many points does one need to get one start? If they do not convert to stars, how can one get them?

Rep is from the fellow community members for various things: exceptional insight, timely advice, providing answers etc.etc Basically making a worthy contribution to the forum. They don't convert into anything. The stars are for duration the longer you are a member you will start to get stars, then spinning stars etc.

here's a breakdown that was posted by Sparedomains

User is infamous around these parts (below -50)
User can only hope to improve (-50)
User has a little shameless behaviour in the past (-10)
User is an unknown quantity at this point (0)
User is on a distinguished road (10)
User will become famous soon enough (50)
User has a spectacular aura about (150)
User is a jewel in the rough (250)
User is just really nice (350)
User is a glorious beacon of light (450)
User is a name known to all (550)
User is a splendid one to behold (650)
User has much to be proud of (1000)
User has a brilliant future (1500)

as far as the stars and spinning stars go...

White/Yellow Star = 6 months
Gold Star = 1 Year
2 Gold Stars w/ 1 Spinner = 2 years
3 Gold Stars w/ 2 Spinners = 3 Years

Gold Star = 1 Year
2 Gold Stars w/ 1 Spinner = 2 years
3 Gold Stars w/ 2 Spinners = 3 Years

You're correct. Rep points convert to the green blocks above the stars.
