Am a month into domain industry with 20 domain in my portfolio but I noticed most of my domain get view daily at undeveloped but no sale or offer yet.

What could be reasons for no sale or offer?

Is my price too high ?

I'll appreciate any information that could lead to sale .
Thanks

You sound like you are on the right track, take it slow and build your portfolio wisely , if you are solely looking to be a domain name reseller, you will need a fair amount of capital to begin flipping names.

You will need to be purchasing inventory via domain auction houses and ect, flipping and restocking inventory is quite the task, it becomes a vicious circle to be able to profit and restock

Thanks

without knowing the domain names, it makes it difficult to give advice.

Cheers
Corey

Like I said earlier, some of the names are geo+keywords and two keywords.

iowacourier
idahocourier
chainski
Keymaven
chainled
Renocourierservice
Castlepayment
Denverprintingservice
Cedarchain
waresupport
Phiamart
Tasteangeles
chicagotel
And many more all are in King. What are your view on those name? Where should should be my focus area's? I know as newbie I need to develop myself in all areas but one after the others

Do you have any idea who is your target buyer for each of these names? And how they would make money off them, hence have an incentive to pay you more than reg fee for them?

As has been mentioned before, Geo names need to be proactively promoted to potential buyers (read: you need to outbound). Then there are good geo names and bad, useless geo names. How to know which is which? Well, put yourself in your target buyer's shoes and think of a reason the domain in question would improve their bottom line... that's the potential domain buyer's bottom line, not yours!

And last but not least, you need to perform this due diligence before you handreg or buy the domain at auction!

There are many good geo domains available for hand registering, but don't expect anybody here to spoonfeed you and give away their strategies. But it's not rocket science, just use common sense, ask yourself the right questions (like the ones I've mentioned above) and you'll be on your way to choosing better domains. Domaining is a learning experience, this will take months (if you're lucky or very disciplined and work your ass off 24/7), more likely a couple of years...

Thanks for the advice and really appreciate it. But some of them has been put into consideration when buy and hand reg some of the name, although as newbie we sometimes been emotional with name but with time we grow in depth of the industry and find what work best for you.

Yes I think I need to be more proactive in outbound for my geo domain. But as individual what re your take on those name listed above? What is your incentive for those domain names?

Any other advice and recommendations will be appreciated. Once again thank you .

For example: Google "Iowa courier" and you will see quite a few that use the term to describe their services. Send them an email letting them know your selling it for ? and if they are interested. You have quite a few prospects to send the email to and hopefully someone replies.

Thanks @brandingtheweb, I'll as you said, but the problem of outbound is finding the dm. Any better info on how to find dm of prospects ? As an individual what is your thoughts concerning those names?

Like I said before, each of us has his/her own strategy and chooses domains accordingly. I am not about to share mine here except to say that your domains don't fit my interests at all (read: I would not have registered them for lack of sufficient sales potential). Hey, but that's just me... what do I know about the Iowa courier industry? (n)
More to the point: what do you know about this courier business and others? At a guess, not that much, right? This is based on your own words above, to wit: Thanks @brandingtheweb, I'll as you said, but the problem of outbound is finding the dm. Any better info on how to find dm of prospects ?

Like I said before: you need to know this stuff (i.e. what prospects and how to find them) before you click that "Register" button!

Thanks for in depth analysis

Are those 20 domains in 1 niche?
for example: I own about 50 VR domains, but because the VR niche isn't that hot at this moment I get almost no offers and no sales.
That's why in the near future I plan to diversify my portfolio.

No

Put yourselves in the place of the end user and figure out how you can benefit from the name. I personally like geo keyword especially when it's targeted towards someone that does business locally such as lawyers, doctors, etc.
In the case of your Iowa courier for example I believe it can be used effectively in ppc as another means to drive targeted traffic to the business.
It may also be a good way to drive offline traffic especially if the businesses domain name is long or hard to remember.
As for reaching the person in charge when it comes to local businesses usually the primary contact is good enough. I would also mention the domain name in the subject line to get their attention without them having to open the email.

Thanks for enlightenment.

Yes it's. ....just to focus on areas you mention .....
Any values in those name aside iowacourier?
I think you may have a difficult time selling most of them in my opinion. To better your odds the names should have a benefit to the end user. If you can't think of one then it's a Gamble. Sometimes you win but mostly you lose.

Lots of good advice already offered that I won't repeat other than to emphasize the point that identifying potential purchasers who would benefit from acquiring your name, and getting them aware of it, are key points. Also keep in mind that different types of domains sell best at different venues so try multiple ones but with BIN if you have it only at one.

A solid .com portfolio has on average about 1 sale per about 100 names per year. Let's say 1 in 200 since you are new and building contacts, learning ropes, etc. This means that there would be 1 chance in 120 that you would have an offer on one of your 20 names in the first month.

I really hope you have a sale soon (and obviously some beat odds), but statistics suggests patience needed.

Bob

Thanks@MetBob yes I'll take note of that .....

True, and it's often a nonsensical market. I have been domaining about one year. I have some names I think are great which haven't sold, and I have sold names this year which I regretted buying and was 100% sure would never sell.

It just takes patience.

I means I need to be more patience, do you recommend listing on actions marketplaces? Or which other marketplaces I should list my domains?

If you sell 1% of your domains in 1 year, you need 100 domains to sell 1 domain in 1 year.
Price affects profitability, sales volume and the minimum number of domains.
Good domain + low price combination will be the winner with little or no marketing effort.
If you are perfect at marketing then you don't need anything as it's a talent like gold mine, you wouldn't even need to own any domain as you would sell domains of other people for commission. As you see, the first thing which should be defined is what you want to be, marketer, domainer, domain investor, reseller, etc. Then it would be easier to specialize in one of them.

Thanks so much@ poweredbyme, sincerely you've said most thing and my concern. Owing too much of domain without good sales will result in loss at end of year because of renewal fee with time and effort put to it. I know it important to increase my portfolio for chance of sale but am trying to be careful the kind of name is purchase, am still find it difficult to know either I should focus more on geo+keyword domain or go with generic name.

Yes I want to be domainer, investor and reseller but still need depth knowledge of the industry before decide which part will best work for me, with your experience in the industry what kind of name should I focus on or which work best for you? Any advice will be appreciated.

All depends on the domains you hold having 20 domains doesnt mean you will just get offers thats a very small amount but best of luck

I know it's been said already by others, but patience is key. I suggest playing the long game and focusing on owning a small number of very high quality domain names if possible where the renewals don't really factor in much bc if you sell one it easily pays for years of renewals and nets big profit. It's kind of like the set it and forget it type thinking. However, there are lots of different ways to make money in this industry and this is just one of them.

Thanks @LeapNames , I quiet agree that patience is the key, but also one need to be doing things right if he want to see result that's why am asking for people advice in other to checkmate myself. What are others way to make money in the industry with reasonable investment and high possible return? As newbie I need to budget and stick to my budget as part of discipline and acquire good name.

I have over 150 names on undeveloped.com, I have never receive an offer on my names, even when I set it to $10 as starting bid..
For how long were lasting those listings?

And, to add to this well explained offering techniq, leave a certain amount of waiting patience as more and more businesses are using auto responding and anti-spam systems, so another obstacle is realistic and potential end users/buyers may not read emails immediately but occasionally as during web site maintenance, hosting backup etc.

Thanks @NikePantic, I quiet agree that most potential end user hardly respond immediately unless if it's their personal mail which make outbound more difficult, hopefully thing change in few month time.

Also, there are other extensive selling techniques as better positioned auctions like Sedo Great Domain Auctions and other specials, or further developing startup website with affiliated publishing and generating interest for domain through more broad Google SERP.
Still, it is quite hard to work on domain sale marketing and website publishing, so I have 3 domains sales in 10 years on the one hand, and other, somewhere around 70-90 websites released. To add, that those websites services I've managed were in personal contacts. So combining it into real business offer, as next level of services - outstanding domain with optional website, leads to business startup/business expansion. Good luck.

I think I'll look in that direction, thank you for great insight.

Hello again, well BrandBucket is a marketplace specialized in brand able domain names. You can subscribe and submit up to 10 domains(over that there are paid plans) on review approval, and if approved and listed(under terms) domains will be distributed through their marketing channels in addition to website presentation to huge volume of visitors mostly business people and entrepreneurs. They are one of the best businesses of such kind, but there is quite tight approval rate as they are maintaining positions of currently active domains portfolio and investment in those.
Regards

I ready their seller terms, but found out that I pay $10 to list 1 name suppose my 10 name get approve I will pay $100 and 30% commission after sale. But still thinking if what invest

That is why domaining is investing business :) No free marketing other than publishing to search index as most of all services involves some work effort, equipment etc.

@Mr De you are welcome friend. In fact for any extension you can get a valuable domain if you know which one pick/catch/register. I told you about .net and .org as example like if you want to try .biz .xyz. Just to experience with them. Of course focus on .com but my advice is get you trained in all extensions because is not the same :
Well.com than well.net than well.xyz, meanwhile the .com could arrive at 5 figures, .xyz is worthless. Now see crypto.com and crypto.xyz, both valuable, one more than other. You see what I pretend to show you? Learn in every tdl which names works to stay trainned and in case you need to register one don’t wastw more money and get exp fast.
Regards.
