As many of you may have read, Web 2.0 is working its way here... it's not a piece of software or program, but is a concept, idea, a fashion of Internet browsing involving easier user interfaces, smarter and more idiot-proof programs, a seperation of n00b kind and professionals.

When will it be here? When will the transition finally be complete? Will it ever?

Well, it's definately begun, look at del.icio.us, Digg and Flock, but we still have a long way to go. It will arive, it's still a year or two away. We are in the start of a dot-com boom again i think.

I believe the resurgence of AJAX is another factor bringing increased activity in the web. Let the good times roll!

Web 2.0 is the fashionable name given to some very basic web technologies by bored, frustrated, conference-hopping/hungry web developers. It all started with some cool ajax implementations, some community-centric aka social networking type websites and the sudden craving for rich thin-client interfaces (after GMail and Google Maps became popular).

Web 2.0 either doesnt exist or is abstract enough to remain undefinable (anything cool which has even the slightest connection with ajax or tagging or web services implementations etc gets lumped under the web 2.0 umbrella... hmmmm)

The name might not be a good name, but the point is that the web is evolving. We can choose to jump in during the upswing or when it is on the way down.

No!
Web 2.0 is a reality. It is basically implementing a SOA (Server Oriented Architecture) for all Web services. Below is just one aspect of Web 2.0
