Web 2.0 & Payment Processors

I'm doing a web 2.0 study for my thesis and I'm trying to find out if online payments; esp. payment processors is a web 2.0 thing. Does anyone think it is?

I see the buzzword "web 2.0" as collaboration, interactivity and social activity.

I don't really think e-money management per say falls under that, only my opinion though.

Absolutely - look at micro-payment services, e.g. TipJoy, TwitPay (just launched the other day), and also collaborative fundraising like Fundable.

Whether or not these concepts really take off remains to be seen..
