Last year I was so into the typical Web 2.0 design thing that I based my thesis and grad project on Web 2.0. After that was done I got myself some clients and showed them some web 2.0 themed designs and they were not into that kind of stuff.
So now I've pretty much changed my design style (away from Web 2.0) and although "simple" themes can be a bit dry in terms of design, I'm really seeing the beauty in them.
I mean, look at the Yahoo.com homepage - I personally believe they've taken new technology too far (slow-loading in older computers). I'm starting to wish they reverted back to their classic home page.
What are your opinions on the so-called typical Web 2.0 designs (not apps)? Are you getting tired of seeing glossy buttons, spiral or sunray backgrounds, etc.? I may be alone in this. :D
