ATTENTION TO ALL DOMAINERS,
This is a typical example of an e-mail I received concerning intrest in my domain name www.motorcircuit.com. However, this intrest in the domain name is fake and what they actually try to do is appraising your site using one of their links of 'independant' companies that provide appraisals as a service. I assume they get a percentage or they may even be part of the company in most instances.
Using a free POP3 email address: quite noticeable a fake origin ...
checkout www.hotpop.com for more info
notice that TG Technologies is not at all related to toughguy but looks like it is
on hotpop.com various email accounts can be openened ... one of them is @toughguy.net
Have a look at the e-mail, well thought of apart from some stupid grammar mistakes which made it hard to believe this is real as a professor wouldnt be making these stupid mistakes i suppose. ....

Hello,

I came across Internet auctions and found your domain for sale. We consider
investing in names as an additional income. Of course, we are not going to
develop each and every domain name. We prefer to resell them later at higher
price.

Please email me price for your domain name. If it's reasonable we'll do
business.

If you have other domain names for sale please send us the complete list with
prices for consideration.

Looking forward to do business with you.

Regards,
Robert Hegglund, Ph. D.

Got this type of letter about a year ago. Pretty well known scam but i guess there are some that might not have heard of it.

I almost got caught too sad to say. But I did a quick google search for the contents of the letter and thats what changed my mind.

Thank you GOOOOOOOGLE :)

Old, old old! As a general rule... If it says PhD within the name of the person... it's a scam.

anyone who emails you trying to get you to pay to get your domain appraised is retarded, if they are soo interested (as to go as far as looking up whois and emailing contact about it) wouldn't need an apprasial because obviously they are already have a use for it.
