I got this email from a company and I am just wondering if anyone knows anything...it was a bit confusing because they offer to buy the domain name but then offer an affiliate program:

Hi,

My name is XXXXX and I specialize in working with Poker-related
domain names. I noticed your domain pokertowncasino.com is for sale. I think
this is a great brand.

I might be interested in purchasing this domain from you if you are
willing to get rid of it at a low cost. I am more interested in working
with you to increase the value of your domain by turning it into an
original and informative Poker website.

At BuyAffiliateWebsites.com we sell turnkey, content rich Poker web
pages. These pages include quality third party Poker room reviews, expert
articles, regular news feeds, store items, link directories, forums,
and much more. Here is a sample of one of our websites:

Not only will this kind of website have your visitors bookmarking your
website and coming back, but will give it excellent search engine
results*

How much are you currently earning for each ad on your website? Cents?
You need to cut out the middle man. Those ads could be worth hundreds
or even thousands of dollars each. Our web pages link directly to all of
the top Poker rooms, and will earn you either 20-50% of the profits you
help them generate, or up to $300 for each player you refer them - your
choice. Your clickthroughs will increase, and more importantly so will
your profits.

Interested? We can have you completely set up right now for $0 -
nothing! I have made this exclusive offers page for you with the details:

I hope we can work together! Please let me know if you have any
questions.

The example pages looked alright and looked real but I don't know enough about these kind of programs as well as getting contacted by email.

Just wonder if anyone knows anything, like if this is a scam or maybe someone had a good experience with them.

-Thank you for your time.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I just got the same email for a poker typo of mine - I think they are mainly intested in getting you to sign up as an affiliate and pay for the templates.

I just ignored it as I was'nt interested in that - I can't say if it is a scam or not ???

I also had the same thought that they are looking to make money off of high end program packages.
Like I stated ,though, I know nothing about affilliate programs and also wondered if it was commmon(although I know everyone tries to up-sell).

Thanks for the quick response.

I had an e-mail discussion with them. They were not interested in buying the domain at all...it's just a segue into their sales pitch "help" you earn money by buying their "turnkey" web system. Check their site...doesn't appear to be as cheap as they say.

Not a scam, just a classic bait and switch tactic. Imply that they're interested in buying your domain when really what they're interested in is having you uy something from them.
