Can anyone help me understand this.

If I put a name like poker in the suggestions it gives me a whole list of poker phrases searched for in highest order ie:

poker 112,077.7 /day
online poker 14,701.0 /day
poker game 13,796.0 /day
strip poker 6,135.1 /day
poker chips

Not always but sometimes it gives out something like free online poker (this is just an example), so then I type in freeonlinepoker and it comes up as nothing "no data phrasae" even though the phrase was in the list of most searched for??

I don't quite get what you are asking. I'll provide an example, please tell me if this is what you were asking...

search for "toast"

get:

454 burnt toast

search for "burnttoast"

get:

No suggestions for burnttoast.

"free online poker" is not the same search as "freeonlinepoker"

If you searched Google for the biography of Britney Spears, would you type in "britney spears biography" or "britneyspearsbiography"?

I was going to say this, but I wanted to make sure that's what they were asking.

online poker and onlinepoker' s search results are definitely different from each other! I think the first will have more results!

Overture gives you the # number of times that a certain phrase or word was searched on. "free online poker" is a phrase (three words) whereas freeonlinepoker is a word...they're entirely different things. And few people make the mistake of typing "freeonlinepoker" when they wanted to search for "free online poker". It would be advantageous to have "freeonlinepoker" in your domain name, however, since it contains all the relevant keywords.

Thanks, yes this is what I was asking :hearts: I cannot see the sense now in buying long search-rich domain names like onlinestrippoker because even though they have 3 good words together its not how it is searched for. Is this right :?

Not necessarily. If they are good keywords, then not only would the .com probably get some good type-ins, but the name would stick out in search engine results.
