@Nick R

This is bad. Hopefully, Nick will be able to assist.

Are the domains at Sav?
If not, then they should be safe, as long as the lock is on & you don't approve the transfer, plus you have 2FA.

@Nick R always has 1001 answers and points out their system is fine and it's the customer's fault O_o

Hello @DomainRazor. I posted this in a different thread today but feel that it is relevant to share here as well:

All Sav Customer Auctions start at $1 (or $1 + the transfer in cost) and can not be cancelled once started. Before any auction is started we require the seller to check this box:

Screen-Shot-2021-08-09-at-11-09-36-AM.png

None of auctions have the ability set a min price or reserve price. When an auction completes and the domain is at Sav, it is instantly pushed to the buyers account making a great experience for the bidder.

I do understand the frustration in selling a domain for less than intended. We are always trying to make this process more clear and its obvious that there is more we can do moving forward to clarify how it work before an auction is started.

@Nick R you haven't even read my post to begin with.. root cause of the issue is not about cancelling an action or reserve price.. it's about SAV.COM putting my domain to auction without my consent and then SAV.COM support ignoring the matter for weeks...

.... if you still don't get it.. it's like I trusted a bank and deposited my valuable jewellery and gems in a safe/vault there.. later to find out bank open my safe/vault without my consent and sold my valuable jewellery and gems in an auction for $2

But reserves suck :sneaky:

@DomainRazor I just pulled the domains that were auctioned off. Based on what I am seeing, all of them had been expired for more than 30 days and were being auctioned off as an Exclusive Expiring domain before they get dropped back to the registry. It looks like auto renewal was disabled on all of the domains being auctioned off and I was unable to find any manual renewal. Sav does give registrants 30 days after expiration to renew domains and does highly recommend keeping auto renewal enabled to prevent domains from expiring in the first place.

I just came on namepros to report this on their thread when I saw your post. I just had 4 of my names face the same issue fee days back. @Nick R I did not get a mail that my domains have expired. I have searched back to the earliest mail and can't find it. It doesn't add up....
Why should we not get a mail when a domain expires and even days before it would be deleted from our account like how other registrars do? That's shady imho... I need my domains:rage::rage::rage::rage:

This is not true. I didn't get any update to renew. And it's annoying when it's only my BB listed names. The .co domains that have expired are still in my account and I've not gotten any mail telling me it's about to be deleted

@Bonsu We email the registrant's email address before the domain expires and after it expires but i't not uncommon for some email providers to send these to Spam. By default we enable auto-renew on all domain names to prevent any domains names from expiring accidentally. We do highly recommend that users do not disabled auto-renew as it can cause issues like this.

Dude even when auto-renewal is disabled, I have the right to know when my domain expires and the grace period is almost over rather than you guys sending me a mail that my domain sold at auction...
I am still checking my box and trash folder and can't find any email stating my domains have expired

I just checked out system and see a steady stream of renewal reminders going out as intended. Here is an issue we have seen a few times in the past, perhaps its what you are experiencing too:

ICANN requires us to send multiple emails for each expiring domain. If you have a large number of domains, it means we will be sending you a large number of emails, that can look like spam. Multiple times I have heard reports of generic email services like Gmail blocking this flood of emails from Sav for an individual user thinking we are spamming. Even when filters are added to "Never Send This to Spam" it still gets blocked and never shows up. Without knowing the specifics of your situation its not possible to know for sure though. Feel free to submit a ticket and DM the details if you want us to see if we can dig into our email logs and find anything.

This is a lie. Sav.com did the exact same with me. They tried to gaslight me about these emails going to my spam folder or not getting through a "firewall," but the reality is that they simply don't send them. The last email they will send you is 7 days before expiration. They don't send 1-day notices (regardless of what they claim) or 0-day expiration notices, they don't email you about the grace period or when the domain goes to auction.

After the "7-days before expiration" mark, you will not hear about your domain again. They do everything in their power for the domain to expire so they can auction it off without notifying you.

We are having the same issue with one of our domains and cannot get in contact with support because we are unable to log in to or even register on Sav's Zendesk ticketing system.

@Nick R please help
