I am taking the pledge to open a new thread about buyers ( not all of them obviously ) who post in the " wanted " section.

I refer to those who want top premium domains for xx or two keyword .coms with 2 billion exact match for low xxx. I also refer to those who search for a cvcv ( ONLY PREMIUM LETTERS ! ) for high xx low xxx or maybe for a pronounceable, catchy brandable ( hey..no more than 6 letters!!!!! ) with at least 10 months left before renewal for a price around x ( possibly low x )....

What do you guys think about them? Please feel free to share your opinions!

Hey Pros..we are just having some fun about US and around US so please let's avoid nasty comments like :

- yes yes yes..your domains suck ( also because it's a old one and quite overused )

- I bet you have never sold one

- and personal attacks or offenses.

If you ( and I ) can't keep it polite and friendly I will close the thread so count to ten before posting!!!!!

Good point you have over there.

I think in some cases the buyers just want to test the waters and see what kind of PMs they get. [Which in most cases are full of BS domains :) Obviously because I don't think there are newbies over here who would just hand over their CVCVs for 100 USD]

In short I would just advice buyers to be realistic as well as seller to quote their asking prices realistically. If there is no balance between this two then it is just a waste of time.

Thanks.

I think that if they don't success in getting good domains in x or xx, they will not keep posting wanted threads.
For the same reason, they strict in their threads to ONLY pm me, no replays.

If we are talking about the legality of doing that, it is legal. They are not forcing anyone to sell his/her domains.
But If we are taking about magnanimity, nobility, friendship, or communion (I don't know if these words describe what I mean), then they are not.

I know some will say "magnanimity, nobility, friendship, or communion" do not feed us money, and that is right.

But all of this depend on your principles in life,

IMO: they have the right to do that, as anyone else has the right to open a new thread telling NPs about the average or minimum price of such kinds of domains.

Thanks photonmymind. I am sure there are NPs want to do what you did, but they didn't.

It's typical in the world of domaining...
Everyone thinks that THEIR domain is awesome and worth nothing less than $XXX,XXX
But when they're buying all other domains are worth only reg fee or barely above.

Nothing wrong with it my opinion, if they have ridiculous requests, they just don't get any PMs...simple as that

Everyone's just out to find a bargain...if you can manage to get a decent domain cheaply, well done to you

I email domain owners with a price all the time, a lot of the time they say "sorry not enough"....but every so often they sell for that price and you get a bargain

So So So TRUEEEEEEE!!!!!
Like in the appraisal section...Unless you know beer.com you alwys get reg fee or if you are lucky low xxx.

Some of the appraisers ( who I have NEVER seeing posting a good comment here on NP ) are those who go around " throwing " some appraisals or nasty comments like " your domains are crap " then, EVERY SINGLE TIME I go to check their domains ( obviously those who have the guts to show them... ) and OMG!!!!! That is crap!!!!!

@Giles Yes I know what you mean and I am aware that everyone tries to buy low to have more margin but there is still something called professionalism and " please don't be ridiculous " aspect of a negotiation.
Those posters embarrass themselves with their own requests and contribute to make NP not a serious place for buying/selling names. IMO

I have just browsed the " wanted section " and it seems some buyers didn't recognize them in this thread even if they should have...

I wonder when they realize they are getting a bit ridiculous....

They should just ask for the domains for free. Some wanted to buy budgets are ridiculously low for what they want.

There is a difference between trying to get a bargain and embarrassing yourself, I know plenty of members, who over the years when they see these threads block the member, so yes by being ridiculous it can affect your rep and ability to do business here.

You are looking for any LLLL.com and have a low budget sure that's fine, maybe you get a bargain. But saying you are looking for CVCV.com for mid xx or NNNN.com for high XX shows that either you are a complete novice and need to do some research, or you are trolling.

The other thing is you may get a newer investor who does not know what is going on with a future trend that is gaining in popularity and sells cheap.

It is a more savvy owner that owns LLL.com, CVCV.com,NNNN.com they are not going to sell cheap on a mistake. Every major platform and broker will gladly accept these domains and get multiple offers for them.

I agree with you both : some NPs are literally embarrassing themselves and beside it they are making the forum a less attractive place to do business on. At least this is my view.

I think those posts should be deleted as spam.
