Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

I'm not a future trend naysayer (I participate myself), and I definitely think VR is going to be huge (it's all the buzz in the industry I work in), but I can't help but think that there are a lot of rubbish names in this thread. I'd encourage a little bit of restraint on the hand regs.

I agree. I wouldn't necessarily call them rubbish because there's always value to be found, we don't know really yet where the buzz will go.

I said earlier that I did see domains that looked problematic, I won't deny that tho ...

Here is the first of a multipart video series from Samsung to promote Gear VR, partnering up with Marvel.

"Marvel and Samsung Mobile present ‘Assemble’, starring Lionel Messi, Eddie Lacy, John John Florence, Fabian Cancellara and two lucky super fans. If you ever dreamed of being a superhero, now it’s finally possible. Find your briefcase and... Assemble!"

My budget is tight and I can't do the buying sprees a lot of you guys are doing (jealous!) I've been looking at the trends of VR domain sales and seems the domains that are brandable, or covers very general terms are selling now and for tidy sums. vrxxx - that domain will be worth a lot more than 10K in the future, but wow that's awesome for today.

Doing some research I came across SOLE, or Self-Organizing Learning Environments. SOLEs are conducted primarily using computers over the Internet for children to interact with another. I just had to get:

vrSOLE.com

SOLE isn't the most popular of learning resources, but judging from the institutions I see practicing it I think I made a good investment. I'm waiting for them to start talking virtual reality now hehe

A lot of people in this thread are registering VR+ a keyword that has nothing to do with VR. I know some of you are excited how very easy it is to put VR in front of any word, but common sense shows in these sales below:

If you look at the VR sales over 1k just in 2015:
VRxxx/com 10,000
VRtech/com - 5,000
VRware/com - 1,033
VRnews/com - 1,050
VRcasino/com - 1,050
VRlive/com - 2,000
VRkingdom/com - 1,000
VRwonder/com - 2,000
VRexpo/com - 4,595
DreamVR/com - 2,000
RiverVR/com - 5,000

There is a trend, but here is the criteria:
1) Everything but RiverVR is easy to relate to VR.
2) Only two(2) Keyword+VR have sold over 1k this year. versus nine(9) VR+keyword
3) All .com
4) only VR+ Single word.. NOT: VR+word+word or VR+word+word+word etc

I hope I'm not bursting anyones bubble, i know how fun and exciting it can be when you first start domaining. I just wanted to point out the obvious because some of you are overlooking it.

Totally agree. I'm happy with my

VRcue.com
VRgat.com
VRdeportes.com
vrSOLE.com

I would buy more if I could, like a lot of onlineVR + keywords look sweet but I need to have restraint and just look for VR + keyword.coms.

Thank you for your insight / observation.

The big launch of Oculus Rift and Sony will be +- at the start of 2016. At the moment there is not a big market yet... Of course the domain sales must start somewhere. When there are more vr headset units shipped to customers and the market share of vr is increasing so the ammount of domain sales and prices are.

You can be a early adopter at this moment in time. Buy low / sell high.

And i know from information from VR software companies that there will be new casino / porn products with special vr features. LiveCasino with live dealers but now with within a virtual reality casino. And i see a future for virtual reality with live poker. When you don't see this kind of opportunities you will be to late to buy low.

good points.
but I compleetly disagree kingdom or wonder have anything special to them. unless of course I am missign something and they represent some well known company vr technology trend or type. otherwise they are as common as many of names people reg here. where wonder can be replaced by things like marvel or what not.. and kingdom by domain.. etc.. etc..

words like xxx or tech or casino or news.. are in class apart and should not even be in same list as kingdom or wonder..

i said all along vr+kw is way to go.. but in the end its none of my biz cause its not my money if someone wants to reg kw+vr.

Some valid points. There are many keywords that simply have no purpose when applied to virtual reality. Of course, VRWonder doesn't make much sense either, so sometimes you just never know.

I've sold a couple VR+word+word domains last year, so I wouldn't rule them out entirely.

I think you missed quite a few sales there (VR+, +VR, Virtual+, etc).. At least my sales anyways, but those were private, so you wouldn't know about them ;) Sedo also has a bad habit (or a good habit, depending how you look at it) of not reporting sales.

I agree, it's just a name until it becomes something. But best to have a selection of brandables to capitalise.
