Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

I've been trying to transfer a name to GD for ten days to complete a VR sale (mid $$$$) and there's no way (Domain Transfer Service 'Unavailable For Transfer'). The registrar is Namebright. The domain is unlocked and there have been no changes in the last 60 days. Yesterday I spent an hour on the phone with GD's customer service and they say it's Namebright's problem. At Namebright I see everything correct.

Has anyone had any problems with GD transfers lately?

I'm starting to piss me off.

You could transfer the name to NameSilo (don't change the contacts) and then transfer to your GD account then ask GD to take the name out of your account.

I've never done it, so I would ask namesilo support if you can do it without triggering a lockdown of some kind.

If you can do it, you might have the name in your GD account within a few hours, at the cost of an additional transfer.

We’ve all heard it said; porn will help the VR industry succeed, much like it did VHS and the internet itself. It’s a point people have made ad nauseum at this point, but now leading site Pornhub has revealed some stats to back it up.

The site’s new infographics confirm that it gets around a massive 500,000 daily views of its 360 videos, which you can watch with mobile VR headsets like Google Cardboard. Not surprisingly (though somewhat disturbingly), those views surpassed 900,000 on Christmas day.

Portuguese telecom operator Portugal Telecom/Meo has begun to offer live TV channels in a VR environment through Samsung Gear VR headsets. The company claims to be the first operator in Europe to deliver a live VR service as part of its multiscreen TV offering, Meo Go.

The app takes users to a virtual, ‘technologicially advanced living room’ (pictured) in which viewers can watch live TV channels on a giant screen, as well as viewing available 360-degree content.


In the Meo Go VR users can follow series, soap operas and live experiences such as jumping from a helicopter or snowboarding. Content will be developed via partnerships with Portuguese broadcaster SIC, fashion channel FTV, SyfFy, History and Clubbing TV.

The application is available for download at the Oculus Store. Samsung Gear VR goggles can be used with Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+, S7, S7 edge, S6, S6 edge and S6 edge+ equipment.
