Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Recently rejected a very high five figure offer for "G / O / V / R" in the kingCOM, am I nuts? Feel VR is gonna be huge! What do you think and what would you do? I thought too wait, because it is still in its infancy, becoming a toddler....

High five figure.... like $99,000? You're nuts!

High five figure....like $10,999?
Might be worth hanging on to. ;)

85K to be precise, yes think I'm a bit nuts indeed and may regret it forever, but the domain king Rick would maybe say otherwise? I don't know, we'll see in a couple of years... or sooner hopefully.

EDIT: Even VRVR.com sold for $40K to an investor...

NVIDIA Reveals Holodeck, Its Groundbreaking Project for Photorealistic, Collaborative VR

NVIDIA today announced Project Holodeck, a photorealistic, collaborative virtual reality environment that incorporates the feeling of real-world presence through sight, sound and haptics.

The Holodeck environment allows creators to import high-fidelity, full-resolution models into VR to collaborate and share with colleagues or friends — and make design decisions easier and faster.

Holodeck is built on an enhanced version of Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4 and includes NVIDIA GameWorks, VRWorks and DesignWorks, delivering unparalleled photorealism, and physics simulation in collaborative virtual reality.

NVIDIA CEO and founder Jensen Huang demonstrated Holodeck’s potential in his keynote address today at our GPU Technology Conference, taking place this week in Silicon Valley.

That's a very strong offer, but only you know how much it's worth to you. I certainly don't see it going down in value anytime soon, so that could still prove to be a wise decision.

Personally, I wouldn't have been able to resist :xf.wink:

Told you this was a six figure name (y) But $85K is nothing to scoff at. At these ranges it just comes down to how long do you want to wait and the time value of money for your particular situation. You're already getting a Nice ROI... is it worth waiting 5-10 years for an extra 20K or whatever your expectations are? Is it worth holding out for an offer that may never come? Just a few things to consider. This could be someone with a time sensitive plan. just my 2 pennies :xf.grin:

Congrats on the offer though and getting it up to that.

The negotiations were going on for almost two months, believe me it is very very hard to say no, but there are 13 startups with that name now, so lets hope for the best... maybe they will come back in the future, maybe never.. they were considering a $135K, but the board kept coming down... oo well, now it's too late... but thanks for the kind words.

GOVR is among the best..and it's a call to action... it will always have buyers, especially if VR continues to grow which i think it will. You got some balls though...

They'll be back. If not them someone else. It's a top tier name and demands xxx, xxx. There are a lot of VR startup with poor names but great products and services and one will be making money and wanting to rebrand.

Thank you for your advice, appreciate it, the name has gotten consistent offers in the low to mid five figures by mostly investors (they always start with low ball offers though), so I do not feel too bad, but who knows what the future will bring, what if VR becomes a true revolution? Imagine in 5-10 years what it could be worth, remember the LLL.coms about 7 years ago? Look at how much they are worth now... who would have thought... good, bad who knows what the future beholds... Even if Virtual Reality fails, VR still is good for Vacation Rentals... it is truly a waiting game like the domain king always says, patience is a virtue indeed.

WOW!!

Very gutsy move. I admire your passion and hope it pays off. If you are willing to pass on $85k... what value are you expecting to realize in the future from this 4L VR name?

I guess, if you figure it's worth $100K then you should've taken the $85K IMO....but if you think you're going to be able to get $300k or $400k or $500k or even .... dare I say.... $1 million.....then I can understand you passing on the $85K ;)

Just out of curiosity, why did you quote me from over 2 years ago? :xf.laugh:

I hear what you're saying in that Virtual could mean all realities, however personally I feel VR is much better than Virtual when it comes to describing Virtual Reality. Of course I'm extremely biased, I do think VR is king over everything else, not from a technological standpoint, but from a domain branding standpoint.

All just my opinion of course. :-P
Sorry buddy was on the red Pinot Noir last night and decided to read through the whole thread again. Some reason I thought it was a recent post as was reading on my mobile lol

Picked this one up off the drops today.

Yes, I would have sold it for that in a flash and reinvested the $$. You are braver than me and waiting it out, I know what I would buy with $85k....but its a very nice name you should get offers later on anyway. Good luck with the name

great domain
not sure I know what your roi range is with this offer.. either way.. price will go up. VR won't fail.. neither will some other futuristic techs.. but imo epecially VR.. and VR domains.. it's all imo just a when.. not an if..

well.. if you do find any of those multi startups called goVR not mind one less letter in their name.. send them over to me for my goVR.co

I am not wanting 6 figures on that one :)

cheers bud
