Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
The adult theme is an obvious posiibility; however there are 187 additional acronyms for nip. Some of which could work with VR.

Not a bad name for a VR news site.

Cat Nip + VR = VRNIP. ..."Get your daily dose!".

Hi everybody!

Here's a question for you....

If VR + KEYWORD is gone.... and KEYWORD + VR is gone...
Do you think it's worthwhile to register VIRTUAL+KEYWORD or even
VIRTUAL REALITY + KEYWORD?

I personally think Virtual Reality + Keyword is too long... but Virtual+Keyword sounds pretty good! But, do you think it's practical?

I hate to be the one to break the news, but IMO most quality Virtual+kw (most regged before VR became desirable...), and long-tail VirtualReality+kw were scooped up long ago... (As to sales traffic for long-tails, I can share that I'm fielding inquiries for my long-tails on "virtually" a daily basis! ;))

Just got an email from Flippa that VRTV/com is for sale.

Also, someone like Google, Facebook, Apple, Netflix, Amazon, Sony or a big TV network may just decide to buy it just to stop anyone else using it.

Its a great name and the buyer will do well, but selling a name like that on Flippa is insane, this is an top end-user name and you either approach all the big companies mentioned above, and if this is not something you are comfortable doing or are not sure how to go about it , then you get an experiences broker to do it for you.

The issue here is, this name will never reach its potential because companies like Google, Facebook, Apple, Netflix, Amazon, Sony etc do not know the name it's on auction and have probably never heard of Flippa.

If you are going to go with an auction, then a decision-maker at every potential company should be contacted and sent a link to the auction.

This name more than likely wont get any bids with a 100k starting price.

I'm not sure I agree with you about all the good keywords being taken.

Regardless, that wasn't my question anyways.

My question was whether it was worthwhile to register virtual+keyword if VR+Keyword and Keyword+VR was taken. Furthermore, I queried weather putting full spelling "VirtualReality" in front of a keyword is a worthwhile investment.

By your response, I will surmise that your answer is yes. It is totally worth it in your opinion.

Thanks for your input. :xf.smile:

You are most welcome...

I would only add the caveat that longtails are worth it with "top-quality" kw ONLY... (IMHO, attempting to hand-reg "virtual" and "virtual-reality" long-tails at this point in time will prove a risky and not-very-rewarding proposition... But there is still a bunch of quality stuff available in the after-market...:xf.grin:)

like Namesbond said, they are all gone. longtime gone for virtual+kw, and gone more recently for virtualreality+kw. if you want to read more about it, the subject was touched on this thread in about 100-200 posts.. including showcases of what people own in those or may have picked up over the last years... look for keywords like "longtails" or just "virtualreality". gl. cheers.

Thanks for your reply.

Maybe I didn't phrase my question right? But that's two responses now (including yours) touching on the fact that all the keywords are gone etc. etc.... i'm not asking if virtual+keyword are available... I'm asking which is more highly valued. VR+keyword, or keyword+VR, or virtual+keyword, or virtualreality+keyword

So, if anyone has an opinion on that feel free to chime in.

didn't you just say you disagree that all good keywords are taken? if you did then my reply pertained to that observation of yours.

the value order has been touched on this thread ~100 times as well... if you'd like a more indepth look... it goes something like so:

vr+kw
kw+vr
virtual+kw
virtualreality+kw

cheers

That's what I was looking for!
Thank you very much for your post.

And yes, I did say that I didn't think all of the keywords were gone. But that was a off topic from what my original question was which you just gracefully and answered.
Cheers!

my boys are playing some goat simulator game so the goatvr is a very good DN for next stage of this popular game.

Goat/VR was my drop. Most people did not like it when I first got it on here..shows you how attitudes change right...I was aware of the goat/vr thing back the too.

Might have been silly of me to let it go, but wish you all the best new owner!

yeah... some things do change.. all in all, every single-keyword domain has some potential to sell.. some more thna others.. and some definitely for less than others.. but the potential is always there.. we've seen it with many sales already.. so called suprise sales. and this is happening when VR is 1% developed and mainstream.. I think we can all do math and predict how expoential this potential will become as VR becomes 10% 20% 50% 80% etc.

when you regged your goatVR couple years ago I am sure everyone would laugh if you said one day pandaVR would sell for 5K. and yet.. here we are.. and look who is laughing now.

gl in the new year!

cheers

I'd probably say vrvacationist and virtuallyf***ed are the best from that list.

Learning from my own mistakes, I'd say to generally stay away from VR/Virtual keyword keyword, unless they're premium terms.

I have the vr+word version, just yesterday changed the price because it's the only adult VR domain I own.

BLACKLISTED @ Sedo

As mentioned in a previous post I scooped Caterpillar VR.

Sedo Legal Dept. sent me an email this morning saying that they have blacklisted that domain from my account due to possible trademark infringement.

I have responded explaining that it has nothing to do with the "company" or construction equipment. But, that it is a virtual reality domain that could be used for a children's games site, or as an educational site showing the life cycle of a caterpillar to butterfly... or one of many orher possibilities....

Have to wait for the legal department to make up their mind on this one. UGH!
