Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

HSBC: In the future we'll take holidays in virtual reality worlds full of ads

The future of transport and tourism may well involve not going anywhere.
Researchers at HSBC have seen the future and it features a lot of virtual reality.
People will be able to use the technology to visit virtual worlds as real as our own, HSBC analysts Davey Jose and Anton Tonev said in a note to clients.

v/immersive.com

I like it, i think it would be a good name for a VR/AR start-up.

That's how i was thinking when i regged vAugmented dot com.

The 'v' can also represent video. Immersive.video recently sold for $2900.

NextVR Is Broadcasting NBA Games Live In Virtual Reality Every Tuesday

California-based VR content company NextVR has made live, immersive sports broadcasting one of its missions. Today, that crusade moves another step forward. NextVR is announcing that it will be moving from the occasional sports offering, to a weekly VR broadcast of the NBA season as part of a multiyear partnership.
Throughout its journey from science fiction dream to consumer electronics phenomenon, many different use cases for VR were theorized and suggested. One of the most intriguing of these was sports. VR’s unique capabilities have the potential to specifically disrupt the live sports broadcasting industry and forever alter the way we enjoy our favorite competitions at home.

VRSportsCast VRSportsRoom SportsHolodeck VRSports.org

Not playing the segment heavy but a few will do. Still have some others and some on the short list.
Unless they start streaming local high school games in VR, I don't feel the market is that large for these names because just a few folks control the media of Pro Sports. But things could change ?

Always room for fan sites if you can imagine what might work for that segment.Probably more low-med plays there than anywhere else.

I think I held that over 3 yrs.
Yes, it is a category killer but a .org
It probably will play well in it's time. But that will be some time yet.
EDIT: It's nice to see things moving along anyway !

How well it plays in the end depends a lot on how big the market grows.
I liked it a bunch when I reg'd it but relaxed on the excitement shortly afterwards.
Had it on my short list for 10 months before going for it.
But you know I'm a long term holder, so I'm willing to wait-n-see what the market will do for it.

Edit: I'm guessing that names I mentioned are going to take a additional 3 years to see premium value at the least. One could hope I'm wrong about that.

I've personally regged and purchased at least 50% of my VR domains in the Gaming sector. 25% in Gambling and another 25% in Adult domains...

Gaming P*rn and gambling will likely be the biggest sub industries in the beginning, before other VR sectors catch up.... Just My Take, but 8 think many would agree..

Initially I think GAMES will be the big thing. We are seeing that now. If ADULT entertainment can be monetized I think that will eventually be bigger than games. But the huge niche I think you are missing is MARKETING.

TV advertising is a $73 BILLION industry right now. And that is just in the US. VR marketing will be so much more powerful than traditional TV spots and thus worth even more money. It might even be so compelling that people actively seek out VR marketing experiences and watch/play them over and over again.

I think marketing might end up being the biggest niche of them all.

The report also shows the increasing role of consultancies in the marketing communications space, with Accenture, Deloitte and IBM among the most acquisitive companies. Deloitte, for example, entered the virtual reality space with the acquisition of Kid Neon Images, an Australian 3D visualisation company. Deloitte expects 2016 to be worth $1 billion for VR.

Experiential Marketers Should Pony Up For Virtual Reality

As we speak, it’s in the process of becoming something all brands can access and have fun with.

There’s no question the marketing world is on the cusp of something huge. VR is impressive, functional, and absolutely irresistible—and as someone who’s in the business of providing branded experiences to consumers, I can barely contain my excitement.

But before we go galloping off into the virtual reality open range, let’s hold our horses and make sure we truly understand the opportunity at hand

360VR .co
3DVR .co

I have only one .co and I am convinced that will do very well over time:

mobilevr - co

On the other hand I have also:

ivr360 - com
vr360 - es
3dvr - fr
3dvr - es

Good question!

For the right answer we need to check the VR as innovation and we need to check the VR tech early adopters too:

The VR early adopters are definietly the game and adult industries as well as the tourism. This is the answer for your question.
Currently there are a lot of working vr games, tons of vr porn videos and on youtube there are nice vr tours.

Your other categories are killers too, but as a domainer maybe the return is slower, as the adaptation is slower too.

I would like to add two more VERY LUCRATIVE category to your list:

Gambling
Games
Movies/Video/live
Medical
Education
Tourism
Adult Entertainment
+
Sports/Events (live - on your list, I just separated them as an individual category)
Engineering

The reasons:
Sports/Events - There are the largest sponsors of the world with huge advertisement budgets.

Engineering - The industry sector is very innovation sensitive and technology intensive, they works with open budget to create or buyout the best patents.
