It’s easy to see how a domainer who early on registered short, generic domain names could be sitting on a business making millions per year. It’s also easy to see how someone could make millions with domain names purchased after the dot-com crash of 2000. But how does someone build a multi-million dollar domaining business today? Justin Godfrey knows how.
Justin built his $4 million per year domaining business starting in 2004, while he was still on active duty in the U.S. Air Force – some days working as many as 16 hours at his day job before attending to his domaining business. When he started domaining fulltime several years later, he wanted to be able to support a family on his income from domaining.
His persistence and hard work paid off. Focusing his business on flipping domain names, Justin hustled, sending emails, making phone calls, sending faxes and making deals every day. He started off buying and selling lower-priced domain names and worked up to flipping premium domain names such as Ontario.com and aftermarket.com. Now Justin has such an enormous network, he often knows whom he’s going to sell to even before he purchases a domain name.
And sometimes Justin reserves people’s names, like MichaelCyger.com. But like a modern-day Robin Hood, he gave my domain name back for free. Watch this interview for the whole story.
