Hi, as the title states I'm very new to this domain thing. I recently bought a few domain names and listed them on sedo - i have had visits according to sedo but noone has approached me.
I also had a scammer try to get me to sign up for his appraisal company - Thank G-d my brother knew to check his IP address or I probably would have done it.

So if anyone could help me value the following websites and give me tips on how or where to sell them. I own:

LookingForStaff.com

RevengeInsight.com

GoingToGetYou.com

TakingForever.com

NewFilmsHere.com

To be honest, I had a pipe dream that 'Revenge Insight' , 'Taking Forever' and maybe 'Going to get you' would be good names for a Hollywood film.

Anyway, I would just appreciate your feedback - preferably by email , or on this thread.

Thanks for your time :)

Matt

low $$ for all names, I think that goingToGetYou.Com would be better if you made it into a site like justgotowned.com, type in your name like http://mattk.justgotowned.com , it's funny, make a site that people type in a subdomain and show mike jackson or something saying he's going to get you =P, then I'd say mid $$$ from the hits you'll get.

I am sorry, but I dont think there is anything in that list that is worth more than reg. value.

Since you are new - I would suggest that you not waste a lot of time trying to predict a future hollywood movie title. First, it would be almost impossible to find a title for a movie that has not yet been greenlighted.

Second, even if you get it - it is unlikely you will profit much. Most movies flop, and even those that do well - they are a short term phenomenon.

So - in order to succeed in the domain business, you should try to focus on a few things;
1. Type-in traffic - this is a tough one and is highly competitive - but you should always be on the look out for this one
2. Brandable names for companies - generics are great - but look at words that would make for an excellent company name - things like junga.com - for example (i don't own that one...)
3. Finally, it is always good to specialize in a niche category - like music, boats, linux, whatever...find a niche and start putting together a portfolio.
4. Don't waste your time with non top tier extensions - many here will argue with me - but .coms, .nets, .org, .info, .us should be the only categories you invest in (in that order).

Best of Luck!
