Hi there,

As you all can see. I am still very new to this game. And was just wondering. What the value of biz domain are. Are they worth buying to sell or would it not be worth the time of day. Just wondering. Thanks in advance

.BIZ domains are excellent for B2B websites, pretty much crap when it comes to the B2C market imho. It's a niche extension, and that is where its value is.

has potential because you can't get any good .com names anymore. Companies will get .biz instead.

As others have noted above, the .biz tld is particular good for B2B/Shopping/ECommerce sites for example buyelectronics.biz.

I register .biz names that a typical small business might use, such as windowcleaning.biz. Most Fortune 500 companies wouldn't be caught dead with a .biz domain because they don't want to be seen as third rate in their market which is the world. Many small business people would find a short .biz as desirable as a long .com. They also know they are one of many thousands who do what they do, and a good keyword domain in any common extension is not going to hurt them. Chances are, the .com is owned by a big company, a speculator that want way more than their budget, or another company doing the same business in a different way or different geographic market.

I look for .biz name that fit the above profile, and normally expect to get pricing in their budget range. I figure a domain is worth what they would pay for a 1/4 page yellow pages ad in a major market, which would be in the low $XXXX to mid $XXXX range, and I normally ask in the mid $XXX range. Some examples of the type I've registered or bought are:

exterminating.biz, videoproductions.biz, jobplacement.biz, toolrepair.biz, cargotrailer.biz, digitalcopier.biz,wrecker.biz, baitshop.biz, bassboat.biz, etc.

If it doesn't relate to business, pass on it.

very low in the reselling market

I usually set a standard of 1/8 what the .com version would be worth (thats usually being generous)

Although my domaining is all about new tlds, valuation at 12.5% of the .com version is pretty generous even for better selling .info and .us names...at least for now...I do hope though that it'd improve over time.

I think they're a good investemnt if you can find some good .biz names. It's a relatively new extension, compared to .com and .net. Give it time...I think .biz can only gain in popularity for business uses as good .com and .net names are becoming more and more scarce.
