.info Value of .info domains

hi everyone
am not an expert in domain names and have only a few websites.

i want to know view of experts about value of .info domain compared to .com domain

as the .info was free some time back and even these days, the domains are quite cheap, around $ 2 compared to least $ 6.49 i get at directi for .com domains.


What is your view about .info domains ??

i have a feeling that they are not easy to be sold.
The domain is looked at as something cheap (even free as it was a year back)

and lot of people already booked these domains in great numbers during special offer season.


please do suggest me, as i am about to register nearly 100 domains. and if i do .info instead of .com, i can save $ 450 on that.

For most names, I would stick with the .com. If it could be information/help related then you could do .info. THere have been some good .info sales but if the .com is avaible then it would be be better to get that. Hope that helps!

yes it is true that .com worth alot more, but i have seen some .info domains selling for alot, so it all matters on the right end-user buyer. If you are planning to register domains register the information related domains on .info and the rest on .com

I agree,And i like the .info extension.10 to 15% the value of the .com is a fair guestement to go by imo.

Developers and resellers look at this concept of 'value' very differently.

I suppose you mean how much you can sell a good .info, compared to its .com equivalent. Prices are very arbitrary in the domain market, I have gotten .COMs for a few hundred and the .INFO equivalent for the same price or more.

it does depend on what the name is, if its an information site then .info can be as valuable as .com, and now that enom has raised the price of .infos i think maybe they will become a bit more valuable!

.COM was also given away for free in the first 5-10 years of its existence.

then only comes .info or .org
