Value of Domain Hacks

Here's my question..what is the value of domain hack? I've seen some good domain hack and i was wondering about the value of it. I myself own one and i'm not sure whether or not i should get more. I haven't seen any sale of domain hack. Why do we register domain hack? Is it because the domain looks cool or because there's a potential end user who's willing to buy such domain?

I am not sure value of domain hacks but I had RippleCha.in

I love them, they are cool, fun, and get Domainers excited.

But 99.9% valueless, especially ones that have a long-tail .com available for reg., just because it's a short word doesn't make it valuable (particularity when it's not .com)

On that note, I have one that is likely of some value - NameB.io

HAHAHA well it's valuable because of the real company with the .com - which should be of of our best friends!

Hey, does anyone know the NameBio folks? I would like to offer them this name for free - or really in thanks for all they give us.

I have a few more hacks, just because I like them, but doubt they will ever have real value - but are great portfolio conversation starters.

Got similar email regarding Sedo domain hack auction..

Had unpleasant experience with this auction already.

I submitted 3 names with specified low-mid $x,xxx reserves. Sedo suggested $499 reserves which I couldn't agree with. They said if you don't agree then your application rejected. I gave up and moved on.

It seems they won't be hosting premium domain hacks on this auction with such attitude.
