Value of Domain Hacks

Here's my question..what is the value of domain hack? I've seen some good domain hack and i was wondering about the value of it. I myself own one and i'm not sure whether or not i should get more. I haven't seen any sale of domain hack. Why do we register domain hack? Is it because the domain looks cool or because there's a potential end user who's willing to buy such domain?

The word 'Astrology' itself is the plural form. I would grace delete this, IMO.

Can someone tell me if its a difficult task to transfer .ms domains. I have a .ms hack and was wondering if they are of any value these days and if they can be transferred because I remember reading someplace that its kind of a difficult thing to do.

Local search, advertising, dating and apps are extremely hot so it's a matter of time (I hope)

I contacted dozens of companies with local in domain, not much luck with high offers--so far. Any tips?

The name is a wildcard thing, the players in the field are huge so $10,000+ should be nothing to them. Even for a small start-up banking on a short name $10k isn't much, considering. In other words, I'd rather keep the name and wait for another offer. I have no doubt I'll sell it, when is the question. Local is very hot right now, local search, maps, advertising, dating etc etc

Honestly, it's not a good hack as it's a 2 word hack & it's not worth the reg fee IMO. Stick to one word hacks with quality keywords that have high development potential.

Also received a $3000 offer for EDIT (offer maxed out as it seems, they started at $500), but I am looking for a bit more, low $xx.xxx to be honest. What you think, is that a realistic expectation? Renewal is about +$50 a year so it's not really a domain you can renew for 10 years and forget about...

My first response: I would take the money and run, unless you have solid stats showing a lot of traffic.

I get the .ll, but will the average web surfer, at least as a ccTLD? I don't know...

Also, that $50 yearly reg is a bit steep.

On the other hand, if you think that the proliferation of gTLDs will prop up established gTLDs and ccTLDs, then you might consider holding another year.

But $3000 is a lot of moola...

Agreed but I am a bit spoiled by my hack sales in the past, have sold worse hacks for mid $x.xxx - low $xx.xxx, also I am running out of good hacks (have about 8 left only) so I want to kind of keep my foot in the door if you know what I mean lol, also I really like the domain personally, I started a bit to develop it but completely dropped the ball last year (was earning about $15 a day at some point before penguin, today maybe a couple cents a day hehe)...

If it was me, I would definitely take the $3k and run as I think it's a top offer for that name.

Domain edited out, I don't want them to stumble upon that thread lol, I will try talking to them again but $3k I am not really tempted to be honest, I think it's a great/memorable domain in an evergreen niche where every meaningful 3-4 word combination in .com is already taken, I think this name has a big edge, but hey am just a dreamer so I might end up dropping it in 10 years (No!) lol...
