Since English is the 'International' Language and sites like Chat.de have sold for xx,xxx - is it a good idea to register good english domains with the .de extension?

Hi,
I don't have any idea about .de values. Particularry, I'm interested in domains composed by english words with .de extension (ex. enjoy.de, webmasters.de, winds.de) and three letters domains.
The problem with using country domains is that it gets hard to remember if that site you visited last week was a .be, .de, co.uk, .com or any one of the other possibilities. So it depends on the name if you have a gimmick with the end domain it will be easier to remember eg "steppedona.be".
You are right. But I've read that .de has got good value, as almost all LLL & dictionary domains are taken. Just like .co.uk... but I'm totally new to this extension

I have also heard that .de domains are very popular, there are loads registered and there has been some large .de sales - I'll see if I can find some examples for you.
Germany's .de is the world's second most popular extension
(behind only .com)

Do more names get reg'd in english or german for the .DE extension? Which ones sell more and for higher prices? Would you reg'd a .DE in english or try to find the german word for it? I'm not to sure about this. I know there are alot of english speaking germans. Your thoughts please.
Sedo.de lists a lot of english language .de domains in their popular domains category, but I own several .de domains including one which would be worth at least low to mid xxxxxx if a .com
Thus far, I haven't received any interest in it but I haven't done anything to promote it either.
Given the choice, I think german words are better but having searched the DENIC directory, it is virtually impossible to find anything available in either english or german anymore.
I also have yet to receive a definitive answer on how hard .de domains are to transfer ownership in the event of a sale.
I also have a few .DE in German language, bought them as they deleted, still get loads of hits and small revenue from them, all paid for themselves though!!
2 offers on 1 domain on sedo, will see how it goes, but definalty German words for .DE
