I don't know anything about these kinds of domains like this one ☁.com . which was sold on flippa for $ 13,600 . Domain is an IDN . How much these kind of domains have value .

Why did not anyone register i❤sex.ws? The domain was still free two days ago.

I personally don't see much value, unless every keyboard gets a button for each of those.

I don't see them as valuable as collectible either, because of the ugliness of the underlying address of xn--****
I know right?

They seem cool when you look at the symbol, but when you start breaking down the url to .idn charachters, and .ws ending, it is really confusing, and no real consumer will ever be able to relate, between different idn characters, and then add random extensions on top.

Like anything some early people might be able to make some money on it, but most are going to lose money. If it was such a great thing, these guys would be compiling for themselves, not selling you on it. They need you to create a market, so they can sell, and exit.
Yeah pump and dump

If it's one or a hundred, if it sells there is a market. IMO ☁.com for 13k was undervalued. Emoji popularity across the globe is undeniable. Emoji domains with .com extension are extremely rare, only because they can't be hand-registered anymore.

If you can get yourself a 1 character emoji it could be a solid investment, depending on the emoji.
Yup

Over 90% of the Online Population use Emojis … approximately 6 Billion Emojis are sent via mobile messaging daily around the world.

Emoji Domains Transcend Language Barriers, are Easy to Remember and are Easy to Share.

Emoji domains will be extremely valuable in the coming years and are growing in value.

One character .ws is taken
two charakter battle is now on ..
Godaddy has a lot of emoji allready in their platform ...

emoji domain is on come ...
And you're only talking about .ws. Imagine a dot com!

Hard to type in on a keyboard though.

You can also flip a laptop to tablet mode with WIN 10 and pull up a virtual keyboard with the emoji. I took a screen shot to show you.

One's trash is another's treasure . Bottom line for me is, people are purchasing these domains and whatever they like i have to follow that. :xf.smile:

Yes way back a few emoji .com were allowed and I think they hold most value. We all know technology changes overnight. Emoji are cool and easy to type in a search when fully supported. More Unicode is being built all the time. How does voice search handle domain names? Think about it. Those in control of the search filters are the ones really in control of what gets seen and what not. I like to have a little diversity. I will never invest big in odd ball extensions. For every rule there is exceptions of course. Some new extensions have had a few good sales. I still stick by .com for King. For now anyway. The next generation will dictate what goes.

If you find a sucker who doesn't know much about the industry and thinks emoji domains look "cool", then you may be able to offload it to that sucker. But in real life, no business would want to develop and have their site sitting on a crappy emoji domain.

You could well be right but I have learned never to say never because it can come back to bite you in the backside. :xf.grin:

I did a 4 extension domain reg today. Have to go check if on the control panel. Registries were lagging today. I think it is not bad and have a couple of manufacturers in mind to try and peddle. Will post later to see if anyone likes. I grabbed all 4 poplar extensions as I think producers would want them all. We will see. No its not an emoji domain. :xf.rolleyes:

And seriously your portfolio for sale is all puny code reg which is exactly what emoji domains use. Now that is funny. I have some different language domains also. They use puny code just like yours in your footer.

All IDNs have punycode, which are always listed in sales threads. Not posting the punycode would be deceitful as you want the punycode to double check that the domain you are buying is 100% correct.

My Greek IDNs are real Greek words in the Greek language. Things like "News", "Internet", etc. They have real world application and development potential, it's the exact same thing as if you had the ASCII equivalent of News.com to capture the English speakers. But this one is for the Greek speakers.

Emoji domains are just like what Kate has stated below.

Don't fall for the hype people.

One of the reason EMD -keywords- are valuable is the potential traffic. People tend to search services/ products based on keywords. Emoji domains do not provide this benefit at the moment. Additional as mentioned above, there is no device that comes with an emoji standard keyboard. There needs to be additional effort to key in the emoji domain name.
While there was a 13 k sales of an emoji domain as above, it will be one of the only few, hence i do not see emoji domains to be a good investment in the near term.
