What do you think are more valuable 3or4 character or short 2 word domains with 100k instances? just curious on current value to yourselves and the market place. I know it's a little vague but when you see the steady increase of domain name values i.e. 3 character domains you gotta wonder where the price ranges are.

What is 100k instances?

It depends on the two words domains. If the two words are creditcards no need to say. On average I would say a 3 letter domain are more valuable than 2 words domains but there are many factors to consider (does the two words domain receive any direct type-in traffic? Does it generate any revenue?...)

I'd say two word domains looking at the top 100 sales for 2006/7 in Dnjournal, of course it depends on how good the two words are.

That may be because there are a LOT more two word domains than three (or even four) letter domains.

100,000 instances can be a nice indicator but there are phrases with over 1 million instances that are a waste of money. Don't base a decision just because of high google results.

3 character .com are always good
4 character and 2 word .com domains are good depending on the makeup of the domain.

3,4 names's min value is fixed, so it guarantee you some lowest return.

But 2-word upper limit is not fixed, thus it may give you the max return if you find the end user.
