I would like to ask you guys who use smartphones or small tablets to do typical tasks related to domaining like searching for domains, doing research, buying names, selling etc.
I would like to be little more mobile sometimes so I am thinking about buying a good tablet and/or smartphone (till now I was choosing simple phones with killer batteries (I only needed them for calling), always carrying my notebooks with me).
So a short question: is it really possible to work comfortably on those kind of devices?
How you find your work as a domainer on your smartphone. What a screen size work best for you, what about scrolling etc.

I'm just like @JudgeMind.. I only use my iPhone when I'm not at the PC and I don't handle many domaining tasks from it. Answering emails and maybe doing some browsing is about it. When it comes to searching domains and stuff I prefer the quick copy/paste on the ol' personal computer ;)

Hello, my personal opinion is that this business is best to use a PC. In the street you can exceptionally use a tablet.

Well, sadly I'm using my mobile phone (iPhone 5c) 80% of the time because I do not have a laptop yet.
I'm at the military base and therefore I don't have access to computer. As far as I can tell from my own experience, it is possible to stay up-to-date, market your domains and even buying ones. Problem is, not all websites are mobile-friendly, GoDaddy include, and there are quite a few actions that are impossible to do with your mobile phone. Plus it's not efficient working and not always comfortable.
But it works good with a PC involved.

Most of the time I use my laptop for that matter.

Sometimes when I am at friend's house, relative house, any vacation tour I always prefer to go with my Samsung Galaxy Note Pro Tablet with Puffin browser in it. It is the best for that moment in terms of domaining.
Hope it clears you query to some extend!!

Personally, I'm a big windows user. I figured years ago that I should probably stick to a smart phone operating system I was already familiar with from decades of desktop and laptop usage. I go mobile a lot so it's important that I can access what I need to on the go and with as little hassle as possible.

Normally I have my laptop on my shoulder when I know I'll be out a while or secured in my vehicle (out of sight). That's my #1 go to. However, it's not always practical to lug around a laptop everywhere or convenient to have to go out to grab it from the truck. In those cases I have my 2 back-up options. I have an android Tablet that I sometimes use / carry with me, but I really don't like it, other than it having a bigger screen than my smart phone. Nothing against android OS's, but I personally just don't care for them.

With that said, my primary on the go tool would be my Nokia Lumia windows 8.1 smart phone. (Same OS as my Laptop & Desktop). I was already familiar with the OS, It's fast, easy to navigate, fits in my pocket, provides up to 5 wifi hotspots to get my laptop or other devices online with (If needed) and allows me to still perform all the light duty tasks I need to (E.g. email, research, buy, sell, moderate, etc.).

For me, my smart phone is a life line. :)

Me I run Windows because of the software I need otherwise I would use Debian. Win 8.1 on both tablet and PC workstation all synced. Phones I don't care about, don't use it = too small everything takes too much time.

I do pretty much everything with my iPad Mini. Home, on the road, wherever. Everything I need to get done, I can get done. Not everything is as fast as it would be with a, say, desktop, but I like my workflow with a tablet. I couldn't imagine going through droplists with a desktop/laptop.

. I couldn't imagine going through droplists with a desktop/laptop.

Funny because its the other way round for me. I couldnt imagine going through any list with a smartphone/tablet. Maybe I need more patience and smaller fingers

Getting used to an ASUS MeMO Pad 7" which is great for most kinds of stuff, though typing is still a challenge. Aside from portability 8" might've been the better choice. Still I'll most likely want to get a new laptop for the real nitty gritty. Not into phones.
