Using analytics to gauge popularity?

I have a domain parked with 1plus.net and it doesn't get much traffic at all.
Interestingly though, I noticed that with the google analytics script embedded
in the control panel of 1plus.net, the traffic was coming from mostly one particular
source. Also the 'pie chart' that shows you where the traffic comes from mentions
mail.google.com and mail.yahoo.com.

Does this mean that my domain is getting chatted about in email conversation
and should be held onto rather than dropped?

Wow... interesting. I should put tracking tool in all my domains so i know who wants it then i can renew them first

Halobitt your assumption may be correct or maybe the domain was once ago a domain of people who he/she put the domain link in the signature so it get a click or two

Just checked and there are no links to the domain. Hopefully my hypothesis is correct
and a big player is gonna give me good news.

if it was a big player they wouldnt be using a free mail account imho

Google analytics IMO is a good gauge and I use it in several sites.

PS:
I have some domains tested at 1plus.net since Baddger got this running, and unfortunatelly I must confirm, that there isnt really traffic ;(

Sure they would. Anonymity is valuable...joe34543athotmail is in a much better bargaining position than joe at toshiba.com. Besides, people are merciless at sending names for sale to big dogs when they believe they have their private address.
