Likely I'll put it to use making money guilt-free for myself while helping the many charities I serve in a professional capacity. It is quite possible to do both as the nonprofit sector is a massive business marketplace with plenty of opportunities to make money while contributing to very worthwhile outcomes for society.

I was always taught the only real difference between a non-profit and for-profit corp. was that the non-profit didn't pay dividends. In fact, one of the less known ways to make a ton of money is to start a non-profit and pay yourself a large salary, bonus, etc.

I'm sure there are many with altruistic founders, but you shouldn't assume that a non-profit isn't financially rewarding.

I didn't. That's why I hope.

I know people that make well over 100K on a "non-profit" helping the "unfortunates". I'd rather that not be the case but it is what it is. I don't begrudge a fair payment for a fair work but sometimes things just look and feel wrong.

I try not to judge people to much lest they judge me.

Don't take me the wrong way. I'm sure that overall a number of non-profits do fantastic work and DO make a difference... I'm just jaded and bitter.

Still. NonProfit.US is a great name.
