It appears the domain industry has been starting to take notice of the .us namespace over the past year, read DnJournal.com .us growth and Namepros with even greater expectations for the year to come.

So I thought it would be a good idea to ask everyone to show us your .us domain names. You can post your favorites or your entire portfolio.

R o a n o k e.us just sold to an enduser. Although the sale price will not be disclosed it was a fair price for seller and buyer. It sold for slightly less then Sarasota.us on Snap last week.

Good grab on Roanoke and nice flip. That is a fair end user price.

Joker.us is nice, Feel free to send me your price :)

Definetly worth more than the backorder price,
I tried to get it as snap also.

Develop it.

I agree. Dealoftheday.us is a nice name but has minimal reseller value however if you develop it the sky is the limit (for that day).

Wow, I wondered if anyone had backordered it elsewhere.

Impressive that Domainmonster beat Snapnames, although Snap made some very impressive catches that same day.

Sooner or later, DM will be accepting multiple backorders. Sigh...

I think single backorders are the appeal of DomainMonster. That is why I was placed a backorder for MIA there but of course I didn't get it.

I agree on Joker. I considered a backorder on that name also

The fact is that they cannot compete with Snapnames over the long haul. The single registrant no upfront charge method works for them. Every time they DO catch becomes noticed.

If they took multiple orders they'd never compete with their overall failure rate. Additional factors to consider are that they would have to likely partner (for now) with a proper auction provider as they don't have that software or built as part of their current platform.

I hope they don't change. I actually hope that the whole drop catch market gets an overhaul.. the existence of NameJets pre-drop auctions is something that I hate. Takes equal opportunity out of the market.

I absolutely agree here.

I really hate the pre-release model.

Snapnames also has pre-release auctions--they just don't advertise as such, but I ended up bidding (and winning) a "pre-release" auction with them. The domain was barely cold before Snap swooped in and slapped it on an open auction. Even if you backorder a domain (which I had), if they think they can milk more money out of it, they will auction it early and open up bidding to anyone.

:(

I suspect that Domainmonster has beefed up its catching tools; DM also snagged Unity.us for me as well. But I agree that DM cannot yet compete with Snap and its affiliates, especially with dot coms.

I am not sure how DM is at other extensions, but they did well on .US

Unity/Joker were both caught by DM (niche catches). I had them both backordered on Snap/Pool. Refinancing was also caught by DM. It was at the top of the Pool backorder list for the better part of a day, meaning there were many backorders for it.

.US drops in a small time window which might help. I doubt they would do nearly as well with COM/NET.

creditfinance.us. It's my first hand registered us domain. I like its CPC ($14.82), but I doubt about its devolopment opportunity. What's your opinion about that? :)

Yeah, that's a very low exact match - less than 1k. I don't think will do well developed because ... well.. what is "credit finance"? Just my two cents.

I don't see an end user purchasing it, unless, however you can build a site and sell the site. Off the top of my head, it would need to be a loan or credit repair type site. The CPC is great, but as Theoretical stated it has a very low search volume. You would need to do a lot of SEO work to get it up the search engine rankings. The phrase itself does not work since you do not finance credit, but if you position it as a site on "Credit and Financing Help" it could work. A lot of work ahead on that one though. :imho: Sorry I am not more positive for you.
