I'm still trying to figure out why this extension has no real support behind it offline. I've yet to see .US being used by any local companies in my area. A commercial with a politician or some celebrity could help boost people's awareness of this domain extension. Why doesn't NEUSTAR get with it?

I felt the same way when I picked up prospecting.us last year. Getting this domain was a bit rewarding for me because I have gone prospecting on the American River several times before. In fact, the last time I was up there I was shooting for nuggets a few hundred feet from the bridge that Vin Diesel is shown driving a Corvette off in the movie XXX (different time though). If you ever go up there, you might want to make sure that you don't stand anywhere under the bridge because every once in a while some knucklehead will toss a penny off of it; and by the time it reaches the ground, its velocity is enough to seriously hurt you. So lookout below . . .

I can tell you that that particular area has gold nuggets about 40 feet from the water's edge after the winter stormy weather ends. The only problem is that real prospecting, even with a metal detector, is hard work. It loses its fun side after about an hour.
