I'm having an emergency situation and I'm in dire need of funds. This is 98% of my portfolio. (The names I've taken out only have personal/local significance.) I've had some of these domains for a decade and I really don't want to sell but I have no choice in the matter at the present. For the people who know me here, yes, I believe this is pretty much the end of domaining for me. I've had offers in the thousands and high hundreds for certain names on this list over the years (Collapsible.com, Lawyer.im, Plod.net, etc) and I hope I receive reasonable offers because in all honestly, desperation will be driving this sale. I have a question. If we place a bid on a domain and you mark up you original post with the bid and add a bin, and there are no other bids. Does the domain go unsold, or at some time will the bid win the domain?

I reserve the right to sell or not sell at the original offer. That's pretty much how it usually works on a make offer thread, if I'm not mistaken.

If there is a BIN and someone accepts that BIN then it should be sold. If it is just a 'make an offer' with no BIN then I see no reason why the seller is obligated to sell to any offer, regardless of how high it is or if it is the highest one in the thread by the end of the sale (unless the seller said already he will accept the closest offer received - if by PM then a mod must verify). This is a 'make an offer' sale, not an auction.

There are many advantages to this for the seller. First, being they don't have to sell if they don't want to, and get to test the waters to see what kinds of offers are out there. Second, it also acts as a protection mechanism whereby the seller might not want to sell at BIN to a particular bidder because he/she has bad feedback, or even no feedback at all (particularly important for fast paypal sales).

Good luck, to the seller, I've seen a few fantastic names listed for sale here in this thread. As for officially determining the rules, please consult a mod. I'm adding my common sense opinion as a regular buyer/seller with Fixed Price / Make Offer / Auction experience on multiple forums.
